I bought this set because I thought my oldest daughter (going into 7th grade) might enjoy it, as well as her younger siblings. We homeschool and it's supposed to be a fun addition to our homeschool curriculum for the upcoming school year. My daughter and her Dad, of course, have greatly enjoyed trying out two of the set-ups already, though we have not yet started school.

There are lots of neat projects that can be built with this.

We got this for my grandson’s 11th birthday . He was so excited. He needed something a little more advanced than legos. I would definitely recommend.

I bought this for my 5 years old who's a big fan of lego and machines in general. He can actually build these himself and has a lot of fun doing it. The manual comes with interesting theory and experiment for kids to do to learn some of the principles. This part however is likely more targeted at older kids (although my 5 years old with some adult guidance does the experiments). The main reasons for removing a star: - Although this set let you build all items for the 5 individual sets, you only have enough parts to build one of them at a time (I was hoping at least 2). - Many of the models instruction are not included so one has to go online to get them (which was a disappointment to my son when the first thing he wanted to build didn't have instruction in the box) Jury is still out on if he will end up building his own model (or at least making modifications to existing ones) using the parts.

My 8 year grandson was thrilled with this gift. He had some adult help but was so excited with how many different items could be built from the set. Great educational gift!
