Great product. Love the Eco Drive. The watch is exactly what I wanted and expected: sleek, clean, and stylish. No regrets. But beware, as I was when I purchased, so that is why this still gets a 5-star: because the entire face and watch are black, as are the hands, if you are not in decent light, it is very hard to read the time. Not entirely a drawback for me, as again, I knew what I was getting into. I just don't wear this watch in my rotation if I really want to be able to read it and I won't be in good light.

Depending on the lighting, it can be hard if not impossible to see the black hands on the black face but with decent lighting it's fine. Otherwise, like my other citizen eco drive watches, it works perfectly and I expect it will continue to work perfectly for years and years

I am just getting into owning various watches, and wanted an EcoDrive for my collection and needed a watch that was a little more dressy than my blue stainless Michael Kors Quartz. I am a bigger fan of mechanical watches, but the EcoDrive technology from Citizen is really amazing. I bought an EcoDrive dress watch for my wife (who normally wears a Gear S3 Sport) and it looks great, keeps time amazingly well, and I know it will never go the way of the dress watch I bought her early in our relationship -- the back of the jewelry box because we can never remember to get the battery changed. I have a few other Quartz pieces, but the uniqueness of this being thin, EcoDrive, and and the sparse, minimalist face make this one stand out in my collection. My only beef with the watch is the date movement is too small. They should have gone with a larger font on the display. It's only really difficult to tell the time if you don't know how to read an analog watch face :-). Unlike the cousin of this watch that has all black hands on the black dial, the gray hands contrast well and look amazing. I do not care for the band, and wish I'd paid a smidge more attention to which model I was purchasing. I am not a leather band person, I prefer metal bracelets for the heft and the ease with which I can shake my wrist and have the watch fall away from my hand and up my arm. Leather of course doesn't do that. That said, the band is quality. It is supple, soft on the wrist, and it has two loops for catching the excess band while wearing so that's not flapping around. It more than fits my 7.25" wrist comfortably. I do like the look the leather has with the black steel case, and might keep it, but I'm also considering a matte black steel bracelet to swap it out. The watch so far keeps time well, and true to the EcoDrive mantra it charges in any light. I keep my watches in a Glenco case in my closet, and I've had no issues with it getting enough light through the clear top of the lid to keep the watch going. I do wish it had a second hand, but for a dress watch that isn't a real necessity. Being a black band, black case, black face, it has looked nice with any combination of clothes, and it has drawn several compliments from folks in more formal settings that the watch looks 'classy'. Very happy with the purchase.

I loved this watch, it is very sleek and sophisticated. My hubby didn't like it because it was a bit much for him, he thought it was a tad too fancy and didn't like the black dial and hands. It was a bit hard to read but looking at it at an angle it was readable. I exchanged it for a more rugged watch for him that is also EcoDrive and he really likes that one. I have an EcoDrive myself and will not wear anything else now. I drain watch batteries like no ones business, and I have had my watch for over 5 years and its never gone dead - best watch ever! Would recommend EcoDrive to anyone and this watch in particular to anyone who likes a sophisticated sleek watch, it's absolutely beautiful.

UPDATED REVIEW: I had to return the first watch because the Eco Drive function was not working properly. One night, it stopped working so the next day, I placed it near one of my huge windows where it should have received enough light to start working again. The watch didn't start working until later that night and then it stopped again, then it restarted again, and then it stopped again. I just received my SECOND watch and the hands looked terrible like the first one. So I'm returning the second one. ORIGINAL REVIEW: First, I must say that the Amazon team members are great. I had two issues with this watch, which I just received yesterday. I called Amazon today and the matter was resolved to my satisfaction. A big "thank you" to the Amazon team. I don't have an issue with the readability- I bought the watch for its looks, not the functionality. The two issues I had were: 1. The hands look oxidized, as you can see in the pictures; they don't have that smooth finish that we see online. 2. There was a small scratch on the crown (I didn't post a picture of the scratch because my main issue was the finish of the hands). I just wanted my fellow Amazon shoppers to be aware of this situation in case they buy the watch. It's a beautiful watch. Just make sure you inspect it carefully. I decided to keep the watch. The Amazon team took care of me. Thank you again.
