Creative Haven Midnight Garden Coloring Book: Heart & Flower Designs on a Dramatic Black Background (Adult Coloring Books: Flowers & Plants)

I just received this book and was surprised with all the amazing designs! I ordered this on a whim....great price and choice!! Love the black background. Wonderful!!!Edit: this is one of my favorite coloring books, however, beware, as the publisher's printing is quite inconsistent! Many pictures with white streaks (I worked around them with bright colors) and the paper quality works well with pencils and gel pens. I ordered the next artist copy, so worth the publishers quality.

Absolutely my favorite adult coloring book. Gorgeous designs that flow well together and the black background makes the colors pop so much. I wish I could find more books like this one!

I absolutely love the black background coloring books Creative Haven offers! The flowers are really pretty, and when brightly colored and embellished with a little sparkle - SPECTACULAR :) And you don't have to worry about coloring the background because it's done for you, saving you time and headache. The only cons are the paper quality and some of the backgrounds are a washed out gray, not black.

Hi, wife (the colorist) here.I've been adding black (by sharpie) to my regular coloring books because I like the way it looks, plus I don't have to use my colored pens to fill in. When I saw this book, I had to have it. And It's kind of perfect. The pics themselves are lovely, ranging from spare to ornate in complication. The ONLY drawback is the perforations cut off a bit of the pic, in case you like to display your work. I don't display, so this didn't bother me at all.I used water colors for the first time because the paper is strong, and it worked beautifully (I did have a drip page underneath). And it was fast! I know, the whole point is to relax, but I was having so much fun I barraled through in about an hour. I'll add a pic when hubby gets home with his magic phone.This is my new favorite coloring book. I have some other nice ones, but this is #1!

Dear Dover Publications, I've gotten coloring books with black backgrounds before and been totally happy with the printing and designs. While the graphics in this book are pleasant, the printer did not check to see that all of the black backgrounds were printing in solid black. Too many pages with grey streaking. Disappointing. I'm adding a letter to Dover Publications in the off chance they will reach out to me. I could not locate a customer service link, online.Dear Dover Publications,I'm a regular customer at Amazon.com. over the past few years I've purchased ten or more of you adult coloring books for myself and others.I especially love the ones with the black inked backgrounds. However, my recent purchase of Midnight Gardens by Lindsy Boylan had a number of pages where there are wide grey stripes and white thin stripes where there is NO black ink.If the book had been gone through by quality assurance, I can't imagine it ever would have shipped out to your distributors. And I don't believe the artist would appreciate knowing that you're selling her work with obvious defects in the printing process.I'm including pictures of some of the pages so you can see for yourself, the missing black ink issue. I love your books, even though they are normally short, with 30 on average. Please address this issue, so I can continue to purchase the Black inked backgrounds versions.Thank you, G.G. Armbruster

I absolutely love this collection of illustrations. I purchased this book because it sounded somewhat mysterious and I am a large fan of black backgrounds and often color the backgrounds in other books black or dark blue. A deep background makes the colors pop more. What I love about Creative Haven coloring books is that much consideration is taken into making sure that the pages are thick enough to take markers and gel pens but not printed on both sides in case something bleeds through. I have seen many coloring books with print on both sides which tells me to, perhaps, stick to colored pencils in books like that in order to get the full use of the book. The designs in this book are very intricate, detailed and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this for an adult but take note that if you are getting this for a child it is quite detailed and could prove to be frustrating for them. I own a number of Creative Haven books and I am definitely not disappointed.

Flowers and hearts just pop on a black background! Wonderful book to color in, and the gel inks and colored pencils I used show up beautifully. I absolutely love this coloring book and already have more like it ordered and on the way. So far I have not had anything bleed to the other side, but I haven't tried permanent markers. Just the dual tip brush pens sold all over Amazon and they were fine. I place extra paper between the page I am working on and everything underneath it, just in case. The book has been printed with both sides of the page being used so I won't risk using anything like a Sharpie.I hope this helps. Happy coloring.

I am fairly new to the coloring craze, so I have been ordering several different books to try out. This 1 is by far my very favorite! All the Creative Haven books are of the highest quality, but this book with the all black background on each picture produces the most outstanding results, especially when paired with the "Moonlight" Gelly Roll pens. The black is the perfect accent for their bright, glow in the dark colors, they seem to just vibrantly "pop-out" from the page. I enjoy coloring in this book so much, the time just flies by and suddenly I realize I have been coloring for hours! If I could own only 1 coloring book, without a doubt it would be this one! An additional bonus is the most affordable price, less than six dollars for a relaxing, stress free evening of coloring.

When I received this colouring book, I wanted to try to colour one picture (you know, just to test the book). I was in the middle of colouring another picture from a different book and put it aside to try my hand at this new colouring book. Well, 15 pictures later I am still colouring in the Midnight Garden book. The pictures sometimes look deceptively simple until you start colouring and I find they keep me captivated. This is a wonderful colouring book!

Mi piace l'idea dello sfondo nero, la possibilità di staccare le pagine e la carta che è di buona qualità. I disegni mi sono piaciuti in parte, la maggioranza di questi li trovo un po' troppo "intricati" e poco rilassanti da colorare.

Resulta interesante iluminar dibujos cuyo fondo es negro, porque al seleccionar los colores, se debe evitar que se pierdan en el fondo oscuro. Me gustaron los dibujos, algunos tienen bastantes detalles, lo cual me gusta. Le quito una estrella porque son repetitivos.

Les dessins sont super beaux avec leur fond noir, les couleurs ressortent bien. Je regrette un peu la finesse du papier mais vu qu'ils sont imprimé qu'aux recto cela ne pose pas trop de problème.

Ich habe am dieser Woche dieses Malbuch gekauft.Die Blumen aus den Seiten sind schoen und wunderbar aber die Qualität vom diesem Buch ist nicht fuer 9 Euro.
