(To Date) This is the only published detailed analysis by trad Catholics to explain the crisis
This book is the first book in a 2-volume set, which needs to be read as a whole together.Without a doubt, this is the most critical book all traditional Catholics - laity, religious, priests & bishops - must read. For this 2-volume set clearly shows what is the only solution to this massive crisis in the Catholic Church today. There are 5 key topics addressed in detail in this set:1) The visible and legal event in which the Vatican 2 organization was created,2) How the new Vatican 2 organization is not the true Catholic Church established by Christ,3) How the true Catholic Church has continued unchanged with full apostolic succession, infallibility, and complete with all the marks and attributes of the true Church,4) How “that traditional clergy have authority by virtue of a clear and identifiable and lawful succession, and the legal context for that succession to bear authority”,5) How the only solution is an imperfect council organized by all the traditional Catholic bishops to choose the electors of the next papal conclave. What stuns the reader most is the simple fact that this is the first and only detailed dogmatic study by traditional Catholics that addresses 4 of the 5 topics above. (Note: in regards to how the Vatican 2 organization is not Catholic, Dr. Coomaraswamy's book entitled, "The Destruction of the Catholic Tradition" is the definitive book on that subject). What gives Griff Ruby’s 2-volume set such credibility is that he gives ample room to quote - in length - detailed approved Catholic theologians in regards to 16 Catholic dogmas/doctrines regarding Church ecclesiology and the Papacy. He then compares the 5 topics above to the doctrines. Then what gives Mr. Ruby more credibility is he analyzes 23 “various scenarios that have been envisioned (and their known variants) as proposed by Catholics and Catholic-at-hearts in order to explain the nature of the currents crisis and define the true Church in our day”, and compares them to the 16 doctrines… and only one scenario/solution passes all doctrines of the Church. The first book is primarily focused on doctrine, and the second book focuses on the different theories / solutions.NOTES:- In my opinion, those who will benefit the most from reading this 2-volume set, are traditional Catholics who have already come to the sede vacante finding. Why? Because there is no clear call for “recognize & resisters” to leave their position, nor there is a clear call for conservative novus ordos to abandon Vatican 2 doctrines. This requires separate books for that.- This 2-volume set is written as an open study - with the hopes of getting traditional Catholic clergy to endorse his work.- Of the 5 topics above, numbers 1, 4, and 5 are the most critical and relevant - and thus deserve individual books focused only on those topics. And they should be summarized so that busy clergymen can easily review the content. In summary, if you are a traditional Catholic that has already realized the chair is vacant - buy this two-volume set - it proposes the only viable solution to our crises. Read it - share it with your clergy. There is hope.

Sede Vacante! A must read for recognize and resist as well those in the Novus Ordo
A worthwhile read. Goes through the Sedevacantist position in great depth. Answers every imaginable question. While i could quibble with an item here or there, this strengthened my ‘Ultramontanist’ position.Recommended along with the works of the CMRI and those of the SSPV.

Defies everything Catholic ecclesiology teaches
Avoid this book if you're looking for serious examinations of sedevecantist errors. This is propaganda that hardly ever refers to magisterial decrees (no surprise there) and doesn't even give answers to basic refutations of sedevecantist positions. The lack of any actual institution being the most glaring.Simply put, if you're a confused Catholic and want to find answers for the crisis we're facing, check out Michael Lofton, James Likoudis, or just anyone who at least is in communion with Christ's Church.

The Theological Case Has Been Made
For years, since finding Tradition, I have had many questions concerning the nature of the Catholic Church and where the true Catholic Church existed. In Sede Vacante! Part One, Griff Ruby is the first person I’ve seen to actually answer those questions. Amateur theologians on internet forums and blogs often offer a number of answers, but those answers never seem to provide a satisfactory and complete answer. In fact, for every question they answer, two more questions arise. Most of the time, in order to accept their answers, one must necessarily suspend many beliefs and just accept, on faith alone, their answers. Not so with Griff Ruby. His answers don’t give rise to more questions. His explanations are both consistent and logical. They are based on sound theological reasoning using extensive passages from authorized and approved pre-Vatican 2 theologians.A number of well-known sedevacantists have called for someone to write a book such as this. Griff Ruby has done so. Frankly, I am surprised that there have not been many more reviews posted.Frankly, I am convince of the soundness of his thesis that the See of Rome is currently vacant, that the hierarchy of the Conciliar sect has defected and that Apostolic Succession is found solely in the few Traditional clergy in the various traditional chapels not affiliated with the Modernists who have stolen the churches and even the name, Catholic.I cannot imagine what more needs to be said in Part Two, though I will read his second volume.

Great book; very impressed.
Very, very good book. It took a chapter or two for me to get used to his formatting but I ended up appreciating the usefulness of its systematic rhythm. The book does not quote from the authoritative papal documents which so many have done, but rather excerpts from approved and highly reputed writers who elaborate with great clarity the meanings of the authoritative definitions. Ruby shows with estuteness the implications of the true understandings of dogmas such as the Marks and Attributes of the Church, that so many misunderstand. The book is written from the perspective of the Seat being truly and undeniably vacant, which may be offensive to those who have been solidly conditioned to believe that “sedevacantism is schismatic.” If they can make it through the book, however, readers will glean a greatly improved understanding of this situation the Church is currently in. Ruby doesn’t purport to answer every question, and through the text he even keeps a growing list of real questions that are raised. I have not read the second volume, but I understand it includes some investigation and/or conjecture about these secondary questions that are left open in the first volume.I would highly recommend this book to someone who has been asking the ‘papal questions,’ or else someone who is looking for that “something more” which cannot be given by man-made religions. It is a great book, and I am very impressed.
