Ateco 4.5-Inch Round Stainless Steel Cutter, 4.5" Round Cutter

I purchased this 4.5 inch steel cutter for making jumbo biscuits, and it works great. The largest cutter in my previous set was 3 inches, which is fine for standard biscuits, but this 4.5 inch cutter is perfect for making oversized biscuits, like for chicken or tenderloin biscuits. You'll need to adjust cook time up a bit for the larger cuts, but otherwise everything works the same - just bigger. You could also use this cutter for shaping patties or cutting small cake circles (from a larger sheet cake), etc. The cutter cleaned up easy and was sturdy enough for use with my biscuit dough.

I saw a YouTube video that recommended using a similar product for forming hamburgers. This item works well for that purpose. I loosely shred out the hamburger, add spice, lightly mix without mushing it, then put this item on a square of wax paper and gently press some hamburger in there until it forms a round patty.This size is good if you like your burgers on the bigger size. I make 8 from the typical 3+ lb. package of 85% hamburger, so roughly 1/2 lb patties at about 1/4" thick before grilling.This method works really well and only takes about 30 minutes to make 8. The patties don't fall apart or turn into meatballs when grilling.

Love Love LOVE LOVE did I say LOVE this stainless steel cutter!I FINALLY found a perfect size cutter to make my homemade buns with!!!! PERFECT for a good sized burger or sandwich, OR a BIG HUGE biscuit! My family LOVED them the first time I made Pretzel buns with these and regular yeast buns! PERFECT SIZE, wash up well and have a good lip on the top so I'm not hurting my hands.Update Feb 2017: My husband loves this cutter to make perfect cut out hamburgers! He either cuts them out of the thick ground meat, or uses these to "mold" the hamburgers .. perfect sizes EVERY time! I only gave the "clean" feature 4 stars BECAUSE.... the first time I went to wash it my cloth slipped and I sliced my finger open. Didn't need stitches, but it was close! It has a very sharp edge, which is PERFECT for biscuits and EXACTLY what I wanted. I can only blame myself for the accident. I absolutely should have known to be more careful. But a lot of people might not be as familiar, so please be more careful than I was!!! I wanted this for making large biscuit sandwiches and it is absolutely perfect!I had read a lot of reviews about it arriving bent. Which would be a problem, because it is pretty sturdy and I could see trying to rebend it being difficult. It was shipped in a simple plastic mailer bag. It was rather amazing that it was NOT bent...I am very pleased with the quality of this cutter!

The product is a solid performer. Only gave it 3 stars overall because the hype I read when I bought it (i.e. - Ateco being "an american company since 1912" or some such language) led me to believe it was US manufactured (my mistake). When the cutter arrived, it noted on the packaging in big letters on the front Ateco, and in small print on the back "Made in China". Again, a good product but over-priced for "not made in the USA".

I originally bought 3 sets of the 3.5 inch "Norpro 3775 Muffin Rings, Set of 4" to make English muffins. They were OK, but a bit small for the eggs that I used in them. I was also disappointed that after only a couple of uses, a couple of them came apart at the seam. So I decided to try the Ateco 4.5 Round Stainless Steel Cutter. They are much more sturdy than the Norpro rings, and the muffins made with them fit the eggs and Canadian bacon perfectly. I use the "Good Living Egg Muffin Pan" purchased on Amazon to make the eggs in the microwave. I like this egg cooker because the eggs fit perfectly in a 4.5 inch muffin perfectly, and because the bottom and top of the eggs are flat. The microwave egg cooker that I use previously made the bottom of the eggs rounded. So anything put on that side, including the muffin slid off.

This is a great cutter and I am very happy with it. I use it for making hamburger buns or sandwich rolls. All the other cutters were too small and this one is 4.5 inches which is perfect. It is of good quality and is made well.

At last, a decent size cutter and easy to clean

Arrived packaged well. No dents. Perfect size for tarts in my muffin tins. I didn't find these flimsy. Not overly strong, but tough enough to do the job nicely. Nice sharp edge for cutting through pastry just fine. I wouldn't package this in with heavier items that may cause the shape to warp or dent.

I use it for forming hamburgers, it's the perfect size. The ring is not a continuous piece of metal it does have a seam, but the seam is well made.

Bought for making pastry circles for mini pot pies and it cuts through the dough very easily and neatly.
