"Potjie" for two: South-African soul food with a twist

I love that book, now I know what to cook for my boyfriend.

Didn't read a single recipe that sounded appetizing.

I'm waiting for my 1/4 Potjie pot to arrive, so I have not tryed the recipes yet. They do look interesting. The book has some real problems. Amounts left out of some recipes. The rice recipe has a paragraph that belongs in the barley recipe. The rice recipe has "print recipe>> email recipe>>" in the mittel of the recipe. The author states his hate for ounces in a recipe book and includes some conversion charts. So rather than the author doing the conversion , each reader can. The author has a interesting Potjie stove, to sit on the table and cook with cooking gel . This needs further explanation, so each reader will not have to figure out how to build it themselves . I believe that I will like the recipes , but the book needs work.

Rubbish publication. Waste of hard earned money spent here. Poorly edited. More weights and measure conversions with very few recipes. Belongs in a recycle bin!

don't waste your money. unless you are familiar with all the ingredient terms from SA and many recipes incomplete.

This was a very disappointing book with a bad layout and very few different recipes. The recipes documented are very basic and can be found easily on the internet. Only 40 pages.

Hab dieses Buch als Geschenk für meinen Onkel gekauft. Er war richtig begeistert. Hat auch schon was raus gekocht, war damit auch super zufrieden, er sagte das die Geschichte wohl einfach zubereiten sei und dazu auch lecker schmecken.

I bought this for a South African friend who loves to make potjies. He really found the book to be great with loads of different ideas and has used them to create yet more potjies. Simple and easy to use. Recommended.

Very slim book... was expecting it to be a lot thicker with more recipes in... I bought this as a gift so couldn't return and replace with something else at the time... the recipes themselves aren't bad though, I had a brief look through before wrapping it. There aren't many potjie recipe books for sale, so if you're looking for one this isn't a bad choice :)
