MetRx again!
Protein bars have gone through changes over the years, as some people are looking for low carb, or perhaps 'plant' protein (which makes little sense to me, they simply are incomplete in AA composition). Years ago I used to use some of the original MetRx bars. They were nutrition dense, hard to chew, and not the tastiest things around. My old standby bars keep going up in price & I was looking around.Seeing the MetRx name, I was curious. This is a 30g protein bar that also has substantial carbohydrate. What the low-carb folks do not understand is that muscles REALLY need to reload glycogen (a storage polymer of glucose) after working out. That means take in some carbs! This bar tastes more like desert than nutrition. Yes, there is a good bit of sugar, but again POST WORKOUT that is not bad! It provides a READILY AVAILABLE supply of glucose to your muscles. These bars are expensive, but as a meal-replacement especially after working out, it seems worth it. Also realize that people are different (I am speaking as a physician), and their response to various diets, medications, etc will vary. I am one who does not function well with restricted carbs in my diet, I tend towards hypoglycemia. Years back (while competing as an endurance athlete) I went through a phase of low carb intake. I could not train hard enough, and it clearly was not compatible with intense races. So THIS bar FOR THIS ATHLETE is an excellent choice. YMMV

Best flavor by a mile
I never leave the house without two of these - a complete meal with zero fuss and preparation. It matters when you live in an area with earthquakes every four minutes on average.Sure, we don’t actually notice 99% of them but, having two of these meal replacement bars in my ruck will be tasty when we do.If I can’t get back home for a day or four, not a big deal with plenty of water, MetRx bars and a good pair of shoes always in my ruck.I forget how many “bars” I’ve tried in the past decade of camping and hiking etc but, these are the only ones I have never gotten tired of…the churro flavor is king.

Easy, On-The-Go, Meal!
The Peanut Butter Cup and the Brownie Flavors are both fantastic, in my opinion. I'd avoid the rest...If you aren't eating many sweets, these will both taste AMAZING to you.The calories are a bit on the high side for a protein bar, but if you treat them as a meal (as intended) it's more than manageable in your daily calorie allowance. If you buy these and end up eating them as a "snack" throughout the day, I'd suggest looking for a lower calorie option like the Robert Irvine bars - which are between 190-200 calories.

Good just know it’s got equal carbs ….
Tastes five probably at 3 3/4 maybe even a four. It’s almost as if it needs a little bit of salt specifically on the pretzels that are on top. The other thing I didn’t realize is how many carbs were in the bar. Full for a full knee replacement is fine unless you’re doing keto Right now. I’m just trying to get anything in calorie wise so having those extra carbs doesn’t hurt my eating right now, but I won’t be able to use them once I’m through this issue. The taste overall is pretty good. I mean, I don’t know if I’d call it fantastic but it certainly step above what I was expecting from the 35 g of protein. If you’ve been around a while bars with this high of a protein content, generally were chalky hard and almost and digestible so the industry has come a long way and that regard… but it doesn’t compare to say a snicker or a whatchamacallit or a real candy bar not that it’s supposed to, but I’m just saying these people who are raving about the taste I question whether they’re being sponsor or paid. Again it’s not bad. I mean I would say I enjoy it comparatively speaking but mostly that’s because it’s got 47 carbs in it. So I’m just saying if you’re reading my review a note there’s got a high carb content so if you’re doing it as a full meal replacement, you’re probably fine cause it’s 410 cal but don’t expect Disneyland dessert in this bar, cause it’s not that.😎

My husbands favorite flavor
These are my husbands absolute favorite protein bars. He said they are delicious and aren’t dry like a lot of the other bars. I hope these never get discontinued.

Tastes Great and Keeps You Full
This is one of the better flavors they offer. The taste is great without being overly sweet or artificial, which I really appreciate. It’s satisfying, and most importantly, it actually keeps me full between meals. The macros are solid too—high in protein with a manageable amount of carbs and sugar. It fits perfectly into my routine whether I'm post-workout or just need a convenient snack on the go. Definitely a repeat buy for me!

Taste great
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I love that these bars actually feel like I'm eating a meal, not a snack - so I don't feel like I need to eat more. Makes it easy to get the protein I need.

Great product! Poor packaging by Amazon.
These things are packed with nutrition, and taste great. But Amazon shipped my last order in a mailer bag.. The thin box the bars are in from the maker was destroyed, and the bars were mashed.Amazon needs to ship these in a sturdy cardboard box.
