Well made and handy card set
I will have this card set in my bag at all times now they really help get the balance right, good reference points whether you use the black the white or the grey. These cards are approximately the size of credit cards and can be used to create a camera white balance (yes it can be done easily) or in post production if you photograph the cards in the light you were shooting in using the eyedropper tool you can try all three to see which works best. The cards and strap are well made, the cards are a matte finish and plastic can be easily cleaned, and on close comparison to my calibrated monitor and next too 18% in Photoshop these are indeed 18%. There is a lot of info on the net about 18% and it's significance in digital photography (the cameras light sensor), just remember you can use any shade of gray as well as black or white to set color temperature, often it is a matter of preference after all and often I just set it to where I think it looks good. The one photo I posted is just a quick wide angle shot under florescent light (dim light at that) cropped down to the grey card. I then sampled the card with the eyedropper (camera raw) and the color is instantly set correctly and as you can see makes a big difference. If I had used the black or white card there would be subtle difference but more of a cast with the white, the grey however will always be as close to correct as you will get. I could have zoomed in camera on the card and used that to set a custom white balance, on my camera all I need is the frame center portion to be filled. You could use these to "set exposure" as well but a bigger grey target would be more convenient, the fold up grey target also has a white side that can be used as a reflector I was emailed a book on composition as well as one on how to use the cards, a nice touch I think.

Big, sturdy, accurate white balance. Great for Infrared
Excellent product. Bigger and sturdier than I had expected. I wanted something that my friend could hold while I took Infrared pictures so that I could get a quick white balance each time I changed subject, and I wanted something much more substantial than the postage stamp-sized white balance cards that I had. In this fashion he could remain off subject but i could still easily focus much of my frame on the white balance card before each change of subject. Item worked perfectly for this task. The color is accurate, and the price was very good.

Good non-reflective tabs, but very small.
So, overall, they are great quality. Really nice lanyard and non-reflective surface, so it is easy to see in the video camera. however, it is very small. 1"x2". I take responsibility, because I did not look at the size, just the photo. It looks like a 4x6 in the photo - so, I most likely will not use it again. I ordered a bigger one for the way I shoot.

A convenient White Balance card . Convenient to Carry or place in Bag
If your a photographer , white balance check is a good process. These cards 2 1/2 x 3, the size of a credit card. Size , makes them easy to put in your pocket or bag. It comes with a hang around strap that also makes it convenient. It's inexpensive , convenient, easy to transport. I'm giving it a 5 because it does what it's supposed to do. My only criticism, it's a touch small. If your looking for something larger, I purchased a collapsable Studio 98 white balance item 12x12. I like it better because the sample is larger and easier to work with and as well can be easily transported. I will be writing a review on that product. Difference being , that the sample is larger and covers a great sample area . An yes these cards will work. Happy Shopping

Convenient and Professional Card Set
This is a great set of cards for white balance. I'm not a professional photographer, I'm just trying to get true white in my photos for Ebay ads. This set of cards is very convenient to carry around. They are not very big, but seems to work just fine for me. The lanyard is very nice for keeping them together and hanging at the ready. The cards are excellent quality and should last a very long time and take a beating even in outdoor conditions.

Durable. Portable. But Colors Aren't True.
I was really hoping to use these cards on weddings and portrait shoots instead of my larger collapsible gray/white reflector or X-rite color card. Unfortunately, while it seems like a perfect WB solution, being small, plastic, and including a lanyard, the 18% gray card has a slight blue tone. I compared it to my other gray references and it's just a bit too far on the cool side. I'm talking by 550 degrees off. For example, I set my Canon 5D Mark II to 5600K. Shot the white, gray and black cards on top of the Lightdow 12 x 12 white/gray reflector (which I have been using for years) in my office. The WB dropper in AdobeRAW records the Fstopa gray card at 4650 +2 Tint, but the Lightdow records 4100 -2 Tint. WB correcting the Fstopa gray card causes images to be too warm.

Small, easy, and a must need if you're a professional
If you're a professional photographer you know getting the white balance right is key. Other white balance cards are a bit bulky and annoying, but this is so small and will give you either true whites, blacks, and greys. I use this thing at all times and these are the size of Pokemon cards. I like how they come with a lanyard so you can hang them around your neck. Directions on how to use in post (Photoshop): []Have the subject or model hold the card *If you're white balance is off you can click the correct white balance section and put it to Auto. (If you don't know what you're doing) *If you do know what you're doing you can click the eye dropper and select the white card. And it does MAGIC!

One of those things a photographer knows they need but often doesn't get around to buying...
A white balance card is one of those things you know you need but you never get around to buying. I finally decided to buy one and this one was the first one I saw. The price was right so I took the plunge. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cards. They weren't laminated paper (which I expected) but more of a plastic-type material that seems very durable. They also conveniently include a necklace for them so you can keep them close at hand. Very happy with my purchase and if you know what a white card is and you feel like you need one, this is a good set. If you don't know what it is, do your research, then come back and get this set.
