The belt may have broke, but why?
I installed the new belt and turned on the air compressor. The compressor started squeaking which led me to believe that the hardware was failing and caused undue stress on the belt.

Two belts broke in 4 uses
Very poor quality.I ordered a replacement belt for my compressor. The original one was at least 15 years old. The new one worked twice. I didn’t use my compressor again for nearly a month and it broke on the third use (and one day past the return window). Figuring I had got a lemon, I ordered another one. This one lasted all of three minutes before breaking on its first pressurization cycle. Your time replacing the belt is worth enough to get the more expensive belts rather than replacing this belt over and over.
