I used Vitalis years ago when I had a lot more hair and it made my hair soft, manageable, and not the slightest bit oily looking. Very natural look when dry. Scent fades quickly to a subtle, unobjectionable level once the solvents have evaporated. It contains humectants (glycols, high molecular weight alcohol, and I think, glycerin) that hold moisture in your hair and scalp without oil or grease. Washes out very easily. After application, rub it in briskly until you feel some drag on your hair. I still use it on my bald head after shaving , not for cosmetic reasons, but because it relieves my chronically itchy scalp better than anything else I've tried. It's economical to use, too, even if you use it liberally (which you can do).

Imagine finding and original hair tonic from the 60s; gentle hold and a fabulous fresh smell; no longer available in the UK, but available on Amazon for less than a tenner. Too good to be true? Yes it was: product never arrived.
