Works very well, except for small dogs (pugs or smaller) can get through
We use this in our house for multiple reasons. It's great to use to keep a door propped open for your cats (small dogs) if your doors ever close on their own. It works to keep out big dogs too. However, small dogs just trot on in. So it does not keep those out.It was easy to put up with the provided sticky pads, though I'm not sure how cleanly they release.Since it was put up with pads and not screwed in, I'm not sure it would survive a child/adult trying to get in the room and forgetting to un-latch it and really pushing/slamming the door open. It might rip it off the door. But I bet if you screwed it in, it would not be a problem. I live in an all adult household and we have never had guests or ourselves rip it or not see it (it's near eye height)generally suggest

Why didn’t I know this existed!?
This thing is amazing! I wish I’d known about it the last 20 years of my life as a cat owner! I have 2 cats. One is small and slim, the other is gigantic (probably a maine coon mix). I’ve also got 2 dogs, 1 that lives the litterbox buffet... I was worried my XL cat wouldn’t be able to fit through the door with this on, but she has no issues. My dog has tried to get it, but no luck and she’s strong. It was very easy to install. The adhesive didn’t stay so I used the screws it came with. It was very easy to install by myself, took maybe 5 minutes. I put it where my 6 year-old can reach it, but not low enough for the dog to use her nose to unlock it. It’s super easy to use.

Not for a stubborn dog I guess.
I have a persistent beagle. Originally I had a door strap from another company that worked well for over a year. He finally managed to get it off (no damage). I put new adhesive on it but he had it off again in a matter of days. I was hoping this item would work better for him. There are three installation methods (1. adhesive tape, 2. screws, 3. both), I used the adhesive tape and the screws together. My dog got into the forbidden room within 5 minutes the first time we used this device (24 hours after the install) damaging both installation areas (my door is now missing a large chunk of veneered wood!). This probably works for animals that aren't so persistent as mine.

Lets my cat in and out while keeping the dog out.
I made mine smaller, because my 65 pound dog could squeeze through when it was set to have the widest opening. 5.5 inches is wide enough to allow my 14 lb cat in and out and keep the dog out. I ended up having to use a drill to get mine into the wall, because when I just used the adhesive pads that came with it, my dog could knock the whole thing off the wall. Now that I have it figured out, it works perfectly.I use mine to allow my cat free range of the whole house and lock my dog out of my room when I'm away. My dog is an angel when I'm home, but when I'm away he has some strange quirks. He can't behave in my bedroom if I'm not home. Baby gates, crating, etc, don't work for him. I hated locking my cat out of my room and so did she. She'd hide under the bed when I got ready to leave because she didn't want kicked out of the bedroom (it's her favorite place). But this works perfectly and keeps me and both of my pets happy and well behaved.

Just what I needed to keep the dog out and away from the litter box and cat food
Great product. I used the adhesive pads to hold it in place while I predrilled the holes and then put in the screws. I used a screwdriver to put in the screws because a drill can sometimes crack plastic, and that part of this device is plastic. It only took about 3 minutes to install. It’s holding the door open enough to let my cat in and out, but keep my dog out. I like this model vs other brands I saw because it holds the door ajar but also prevents the door from getting pushed closed. With the little fabric strap ones you’ll see for sale, a door could get pushed shut. Really easy to latch/unlatch from either side of the door, even for my child to operate.

Love love love
This works wonders for my 20 lb chonk cat. He’s big but fits through without any issue. Keeps our golden retriever out and away from the litter but let’s my cat in to enjoy his private time in peace. Have had these on a couple doors in my house to give my cat extra alone space and never had a problem with it ripping out or getting stuck. Wherever I live I will always use this! Absolutely love it. And my cat loves it too- dog not so much

Did not stick to my very lightly textured bedroom wall
This might work if you have an area where you don't mind using the screws to get a good hold. I tried to fix product on with the included sticky pads (which aren't strong enough) my small dog plowed right through the gap. ALSO - not an easy return at all. I am out $18.00 - because there is no way to open the hard plastic enclosing the item - without it now being in non pristine condition. I managed not to cut myself when trying to open the item. Then it didn't work - now if I return it they will take $9.00 off for the restocking fee - You must first get a RETURN AUTHORIZATION from them before sending. Then you will only get 50% back, if you are returning item due to it not working out for you. They use USPS, not UPS.

No more poop for you, Mr. Corgi.
Fantastic solution to our problem. My dog (Pembroke Welsh Corgi) LOVES to sneak snacks from the litter box. (i.e. he eats poop, which is gross considering how much he loves to lick people.) Our old apartment had a bigger coat closet, so we set the litter box on a crate so he couldn't reach it. (Take that, stubby legged fiend!) Our new place has a coat closet the size of coffin, so we had to put the litterbox in the laundry room. The crate we used in the old place was too big to fit with the washer and dryer, and our cat can't get on top of the washer so we couldn't put the litter box up there. (And didn't really want to anyway) Peek a Boo let us keep the litterbox on the floor and keep the dog out of the laundry room. Now the cat can get in and stink it up, but the dog can only stick his nose through the crack and sigh at the missed opportunity.
