Excellent tea pot!
It's my second Le Creuset tea pot so I was expecting another beauty and that what I received. Sturdy and gorgeous at the same time.

Beautifully made and still going strong
I bought this thing three years ago and I still love this tea pot. It's still going strong with no cracks or chips, and has handled near daily use excellently. There have been a lot of moments where I've banged it or clinked it against something and thought "oh no, did it chip?" and the glaze is still flawless.Mine is a little lighter than the amazon picture, but still has that nice gradient to it from a lavender to a dark purple. It's a lovely color and the interior is a nice cream to make it easy to see if it needs washing. The included infuser is a blessing to have for loose leaf teas (SO much easier than the "scoop" infusers or any of those ilk) although the top tab on it feels a bit flimsy like I could snap it right off. It's still vastly preferable to any loose infuser or even reusable bags; I've used both and being able to just dump out and rinse the infuser without digging out or scrubbing is fantastic. The one issue I have about this pot is that if you fill it almost to the top, pouring it can be a bit tricky. If the angle you pour at is too shallow then the spout dribbles, but if the angle is too steep then it leaks out of the top. If I didn't fill it that much I probably wouldn't have this issue, but I always get greedy and want more tea per pot. It's become a daily part of my life and I've been very happy with it, hopefully it'll be around for many more years to come.

Bad design
The lid has no lip to prevent it from falling off while pouring. The spout is poorly designed, and drips with each pour. Sometimes you don’t get what you pay for, even with a famous brand.

My Irish Nana would approve!
It really DOES hold 44 oz! It's not too heavy and the handle doesn't get hot when the tea is steeping even when I cover it with a tea cozy. It's beautiful and the inside is glazed too so it cleans up nice...doesn't stain. I loved mine so much I bought one for my mom. It's the BEST tea pot I ever had!

Sturdy and well made but spills when pouring.
This is a great quality teapot. I love the strainer and I love stoneware teapots. Fine China can crack after a while....pouring in boiling water. I have deducted two stars for the pour-ability. It is very tricky to pour when it is full. You have to under fill the pot and pour almost without tipping. Unfortunately my portions are my Royal Albert which pours perfectly but cracks easily, or the stoneware that won't crack but doesn't pour well. Now if anyone knows of a stoneware teapot that pours well....I'm on it!

Love it except the lid
The only thing that makes me stop short of 5 stars was that the lid does not have a catch that you usually find on teapot lids to stop it from coming off. I am sure that's because of the built in strainer but a little more thought put into the design I daresay they could have found a way to do it. Other than that, love the teapot, and especially the color! But be warned it is a two-handed pour (to hold lid down). The spout is excellent design to minimize drips. Other users who said it leaks when pouring I suspect have filled the kettle to near top instead of the recommended 32 oz.

At Last, a Thoughtfully Designed Teapot -- Looks Good and Works Well
Finally, I found the perfect teapot. It's heavy and keeps the tea warm for a longer period of time. The red color is beautiful, especially with the shading, Le Creuset's style. It looks so nice on my counter; I use it every day. The tea strainer is large, which means there's room for the tea to absorb the water, steep. The handle on the tea strainer is an extra plus, making it easy to remove and also to rotate as you are adding the water, and it's easy to clean. The 32-oz capacity is good for my needs. This is my sixth teapot, and it will be my last.

Poor top fit leads to broken top. Top dollar for poor quality.
I had a Creuset teapot for years. It held up well, supporting 1 to 3 full pots a day. But it got a few chips from normal wear and tear, and I decided to replace it. When I got the replacement unit, I noticed that the lid was substantially smaller than the old one. It didn't fit well, and after a week of use fell off and broke. Being a somewhat obsessive engineer type, I glued the broken lid back together, got out my calipers and did a measurement. The old lid is 11 cm across. The new lid was 9.5 cm across. The mating flange on the old one fits the mouth of the teapot perfectly. the new one has about 7 mm of slop, making it very difficult to pour without the lid falling off.So now I haver a cool looking blue top on a red teapot. But, if you pay the premium price for a Le Creuset product, you expect the parts to fit together.
