Perfect connect macbook to receiver
It worked perfectly to output my mbp usb c to receiver through toslink. One weird thing is, my original mbp cable cannot be recognized if I replace the attached usb-a/usb-c cable, maybe it is OTG related? Sound quality is wonderful! Finally mbp is enabled with external speaker, cool!

Fantastic little unit, does what is supposed to do, no problems or issues at all
Unlike other reviewers, I did not have any issues using this device at 24bit, 192000Hz. Nor did I have any issues with the device running off USB-C from my computer right to the devices USB-C connector. It just worked and works very well. Note, I'm using the spdif optical output from the device into my NAD C656 preamp/streamer.

Some drop outs on 2018 Mac mini Catalina
I did not have good luck with this item. I Needed an optical output from my 2018 Mac mini With Catalina OS. Tried 2 usb cables. The device is recognized by the operating system. The optical out works but has momentary drop outs making it not good enough for my use case. Tried the usb 3 and usbC outs on the Mac mini Others may have better luck. My use case is on a newer mac with a operating system that has a lot of growing pains.

For the most part, it gets the job done.
Everything works as I was expecting it to. I gave it a four star rating because so far, I haven't been able to get a 24/192 audio out of it. I get 24/96. I tend to think it's more a user problem rather than a product problem. I will adjust the rating to five stars when I get it to play 24/192.

Somewhat worked
You can't use usb c to usb c, gotta get adapter. Would occasionally disconnect then reconnect causing music to pause.

Digital Outputs Work Perfectly
This converter works! I'm using it to provide a digital coax signal for my ancient Logitech z-5500 5.1 system. My fancy new "gaming" motherboard lacks digital audio outputs, and my water pump is generating noise on the analog audio outputs. The digital signal from the converter eliminates the noise, and allows me to use surround modes that aren't available with the analog only outputs of my motherboard. Now my z-5500 system sounds great at low volumes and when its loud enough to shake the neighbor's house.

Digital connection from Mac USB-C to SP/DIF Coax Digital input
So happy someone (Rei Yin apparently) made this little box - it's kind of a niche use case: connecting a Mac USB-C output to an SP/DIF Coax digital input but here it is and it works. Only alternative I can find is https://a.co/d/gxoWomI which costs a little more. It took a few attempts to get the digital sync right to avoid clicks and pops, but it seems good now. No power supply needed, no drivers, comes with a useful USB-A to USB-C adapter (which I didn't try).
