Heater works well for my kombucha brew!
I've only had the heater for a few weeks, but it seems to be working very well. It keeps my kombucha at the right temperature, and I can choose between three heat levels depending on the room temperature. I wrap a towel around it which helps to keep the heat in. I can stand my bottled kombucha in a ring around my heated jar, and they can share the heat for the second fermentation. Very handy heating mat!

So far so good!
Living in the midwest, the temperatures can fluctuate pretty heavily. Now that it's getting colder I wanted something that could keep my brews warm. I read some mixed reviews on seedling mats since they can sometimes get too warm and most do not have temperature settings. Enter this heat wrap! Works great so far - it keeps the brew warm, has low/med/high settings depending on your ambient temp, and has a fun design. It also comes with a temperature heat strip, which was a nice add-on. Very pleased with my order.

SCOBY’s like 78-80 degrees, keeping the wee guy happy will speed up your brewing process
The more you keep your SCOBY hot, happy, and healthy, your kombucha will brew much faster, mine in 7 days, compared to weeks without one - it’s very easy to use, make sure you put your stick thermometer in the gap so you can read it - it’s kinds hard to see - I use a flash light and the temp it is is a blue/green color compared to the black ones it’s not…I check it throughout day - my research says it prefers 78 degrees…California is chilly right now, so I have it on high overnight and medium during the day…loving it…The following is the review I posted on the other items I bought on my kombucha adventure…I bought the gallon jar with stainless steel spigot from this company, too…I was a bit scared to start my whole kombucha journey - fear of being poisoned, have bottles explode in my face, have the bacteria SCOBY escape its jar and come for me in the night!!!I’m going to post this review on the gallon jar and book products, since it was this starter kit, gallon jar/heater, and book combo that has set me on my kombucha home brew journey….I bought the starter kit last month, plus The Big Book of Kombucha and was reading it, talked to friends who’d brewed their own kombucha in the past; they all recommended a glass jar with spigot to do continuous brew rather than mess about with the SCOBY, risk it getting contaminated, and make everything simpler. I bought one from Home Goods, but as I kept reading, I realized the cute crystal glass and plastic spigot would not be good…Went back to the drawing board, researched on Amazon and found a great kombucha gallon jar, with stainless steel spigot, and bought their heater, kombucha likes 78 degrees…and ferments faster…A week ago, I followed a hybrid of directions from my book, the starter kit, and jar people….and created my first go, this starter kit is great, has everything you need, the tea is a mix of organic green and black tea, I’m ordering more today, cane sugar, vinegary smelling starter kit and healthy looking thin layers of cream and tan SCOBY, cane sugar, PH strips - I’m going to use their gallon jar to experiment once my SCOBY needs to be cut smaller…Once I’d mixed everything in my jar, my PH was 2.5 = perfect….added the stick on temp gauge, and my heater, and it’s cook little hat…I had placed the gallon jar on a small towel so I could drag it forward, rather than lifting it….i talked to my dear little Scooby Doo, it is a living organism, every time I was in the kitchen, kept temp at 78-80 degrees, a new white seal grew on top, and stringing strands grew down, all by the book….I sampled it today, it was sweet, but a little tart, and decanted half off into an old big 48 oz kombucha bottle, and added fresh ginger, hibiscus, and lemon juice- I will burp it every day for 3-4 days, and when the bubbles, flavor is to my liking, I’ll strain it into small bottles and put them in the fridge. My research says let the SCOBY sit in more concentrated mixture for a few days before adding more sweet tea and starting the process all over again…So far, it has been fun, and I look forward to drinking the real flavored stuff in a few days…

Cute and works
It's cute and it works my only downside is that it doesn't actually give you a temperature. It's just a temperature above ambient. The temperature is on the sticker that you put on the bottle. But overall it's cute and it does work

Keep good even heat
Never thought I could brew and flavor my own kombuca, but here I am! Helps regulate the temp nicely.

Keeps kombucha Temps within range
I like that this warmer has the 3 settings. It also looks nice with the bee theme. The cord is a nice length. It fits perfectly on a 1 gallon jar. I currently have it on a 2.5 gallon jar and it only covers 3 sides, but the velcro strap keeps it secure. It was just a tad short but I was able to add a small piece of velcro that I had on hand to legthen it a bit. It heats to about 78° to 82° temperature on the medium setting in my kitchen. I like that I can switch it to low when my kitchen warms up while cooking dinner.

you need this to brew kombucha during the winter
must-have for this kit; should be included, but I get why it's optional. perfect for ensuring proper temperature; you can't do without it if you want to brew year-round

No complaints!
If you need a kombucha wrap, to maintain temperatures in a cool or cold house, this is the one. Awesome with the three temperature settings... I lowered it from high to medium, as the supplied temperature sticker showed my kombucha was too warm. It was then perfect. Great for monitoring and adjusting temperature, according to your environment.
