Savage Worlds Essentials Boxed Set (S2P10024) Hardcover – September 30, 2019

Sure, it seems expensive. But it's worth it. I had bought the Adventurer Edition (SWADE) core book, and already had the Explorer's Edition SciFi companion. I thought "wouldn't it be nice to have the official bennie chips as well?" (I've been using pennies.) But there's a lot in this box that has made it valuable to me in the game.- Bennie chips - It was immediately evident that these are high-quality chips. They are heavy, feel nice, with the different designs, they fit very well in any SW game.- World Builder / Game Master's Guide book - As a novice GM, I'm having a great time reading through this book.- Mini Settings book - Another great source for adventure ideas.- Adventurer deck - I wasn't even aware of these cards before I received the box. They look like they will add a nice bit of subtle flare and fun in my upcoming sessions.- Powers deck - Being relatively new to SW, I haven't really dived deep into powers. But I think this deck will certainly be handy.- Status deck and tokens - I found it very cool that they gave us a choice which medium to use! I'll probably keep the cards stored, and just use the tokens.- Oversized Action deck - Wow, these cards are big. I mean, I'm really not sure why they're so big. I'll probably forego using this deck, as it seems almost cumbersome, and just use my own standard cards. If Pinnacle decided to make a standard-sized Action deck, I'd probably buy those up quick. The artwork on them is very nice.- Wild dice - The understated pearl wild dice are very nice.- Poster and bookmarks - A nice addition to the box, but I see them more as fluff than as usable items.The quality of everything in the box is top-notch.I like the idea of having enough space in the box for the core book. But I'm finding that if I want to pull out the book, I practically have to unpack the whole top part of the box to get it. That may work for some people, but I want easy, quick access to the book. This is really a minimal gripe, as I will probably have other books that wouldn't fit in the box anyway.

Yes, I would have liked the Adventure Edition Book included. However, if one reviews the Kickstarter for these items, the price is comparable. Good quality. Maybe the card stock could have been a bit better but it was still good.

I love this box. It comes with everything you need to get playing (except the rule book).

Had everything I was looking for to get into a new RPG! The box set provides everything you need to get off to the right start...with style. The custom card decks and area effect templates are great!

Got a good deal on this set.

I purchased this box, because i am looking forward to running some Savage worlds in person. The extras it came with, like the adventure deck, bennies, etc are very nice and the artwork is great, but I didn't realize it does NOT come with the core rulebook, which apparently needs to be purchased separately for $30. Essentially $170 to get it all. IMO, that is a little steep. The worldbuilding guide is great for beginner GMs. It is not the most organized book, but it has some great information for new GMs. I am happy with the quality of all the material, just was a little disappointed getting the core rulbook was to cost an additional $30 on top of the already pricey $140 for what is provided.

Personally, i don't think this is a good deal. I wish i would have researched a little more. You can buy everything in this set here on amazon for less than 110. Then you can get what you want instead of all of it. Personally, the status cards aren't useful at all. The bennies are nothing more than markers that we all have plenty of. Just my two cents, but not worth it to me. Sadly, i'm pretty lazy so won't return it but just letting folks know something to consider being this is not the GREAT deal as they proclaim it to be. Over 175 value... (unless the box is valued at 90 bucks). :)

Fantastic product!I’m so glad I bought this. None of it is necessarily needed to start a game of savage worlds but this adds to the experience with official mini-settings, bennies and cards galore! It’s great, especially for the price.

Great product but I thought at this price it would contain the core rules. Sadly it does not.
