Good quality and smaller birds seem to enjoy it. Cardinal sized birds have not used it yet after a month and a half and seem to feed from the ground now. The feeder is not actually squirrel proof, It was a puzzle to them for all of 1 week and they will hang upside down to scoop the feed out by hand and eat while upside down. They can now empty it in 1-2 days and leave only the lowest feeder point for the birds to enjoy. Materials, design, and capacity are great, but if you have squirrels that frequent your feeders, this one will not prevent them for long.

Nice feeder, I hung this feeder on a shepherds hook near a bush,first the chipmunk leaped off the bush on the feeder ,so i moved it out of reach. Then they climbed the pole for the feeder. Solution, I greased the pole with shay butter & peppermint oil. Now Chip & Dale can only get what the birds drop to the ground.

Bought this feeder for the Goldfinches that hang out at our place during the Summer. I fill it with thistle and they love it. What I don't love is what a pain it is to open and close it to refill it. I have to do this at least once a day, and you have to unscrew the top, which takes a while....and then to close, screw it back shut. This gets tedious when having to fill it so often. If I'd have known that this feeder had this kind of opening I'd have bought a different one.EDIT: The wonderful seller reached out to me and actually offered me a full refund. I thought that was awesome on their part, but completely unrequired for something that is such a small issue for me. And apparently no one else has an issue with this. The bird feeder is sturdy and works great, despite my one gripe about it. Great company and even greater customer service. I'm changing my review to 4 stars instead.

Well built and solid feeder. Just unscrew the top and add food. Comes with flex wire attached to the top ring. I use as a safety device in case birdies manage to knock it off my "S" hooks. The perches could be a bit longer for medium size birds. Bought the 2 pack and glad I did. Am going to get more of them.

Went back to old trusted feeder model. We have a chipmunk issue. Seeing 6 birds eat makes me happy cardinal yellow finch and all the little brown ones. Yeah. Chipmunk goes up the shepherd hook can’t jump to get over. Foiled. Squirrels haven’t tried. We are in week 2

After the little bird brains figure out how to sit on the perches it works great. I'm just trying to keep the finches off my hummingbird feeders.

I must say that I am pleased to see these birdfeeders are so well-made. I have gotten a lot of enjoyment watching the birds swinging on the perch. I also enjoyed watching the squirrel, trying his best to figure out how to get up there and failing. If I had to suggest anything else, I would say that the perches Should be a little bit further apart spaced, and a little bit longer.

If you have deer around, forget this one. Drained in one night by deer. Guess they can get their tongue into the feeder. Feeder hanging next to it is the type that covers the holes with any pressure and that one tends to keep them out. Otherwise seems to be a good value. Can't speak to squirrels as the deer did it in overnight.UPDATE: merchant customer service was OUTSTANDING - they saw my review and offered (without being asked and with no caveats) a full refund. They deserve the star rating change I gave them. Well done!
