The baby vicks is nonmedicated. It contains lavender oil, rosemary and eucalyptus oil which makes it more mild than the regular vicks vapor rub. The ingredients in the regular vicks are too strong and can make it hard for the baby to breathe.

Q: Is it true that applying it to some of baby's body parts prevent mosquito bites??

The rosemary and eucalyptus may be helpful in discouraging mosquitos, but like most insect repellents, it will depend on what your baby's body is giving off (heat, carbon dioxide, scents, hormones, etc...) that is attracting the types of mosquitoes you are encountering.
