Welcome to Our World: A Celebration of Children Everywhere!

Engagingly written and beautifully illustrated
Bought for my 4 year old daughter. We are a mixed race family and my daughter had started to ask questions about where we come from, different skin colours and languages. We had started to look countries up on our globe and talk about the foods people eat and what people in different countries wear. Welcome to our World is a book that lets you and your children dip into different aspects of our world - how people say 'hello', what they call their grandparents, what they wear to school, what they do when they lose their teeth! It is charmingly written with a lovely balance of facts and fun to help young - and old(er) - gain a real flavour for the wonderful world we live in.

Great illustration
I bought this book for my 4 year old Japanese/British daughter. I wanted to start introducing her that there are many different cultures in the world and it's ok to have different appearance/manners/languages. This book hopefully helps give her an idea and confidence to being herself in future. My daughter and I both adore cute drawing and like the all contents. We especially enjoy seeing amazing food. My bilingual daughter likes to explore other languages as well.Although I spotted the word of "granddad" in Japanese can be "Oji-i-san" which is more natural instead of "Sofu" that sounds more formal.

Diversity for children
Love this book. It’s great start for kids to learn about diversity in the world. There are sections in it such as foods around the world, how kids say hello in their own languages, and types of houses they live in etc. The great thing is it emphasises that although children are from different backgrounds, they still have things in common with each other. Love to see more books like this.

Love it
Very informative interesting book that both adults and kids can find useful and learn from. Every family should have one! My 2 year old toddler wants me to read it to him all the time and we learn together. The illustrations are also lovely.

The loveliest book full of wonderful facts
This exceeded my expectations. I brought for my 4.5year old as their school project is all about the world and different cultures. He loves this, its beautifully written and illustrated. Has information kids would just get and love, and can relate to. He found the tooth fairy/teeth traditions hilarious, and loved looking at how children get to school, what they wear and how they learn. A wonderful book that teaches about diversity in an integrated way, and celebrates what is the same across the world, as much as what is different.
