Arches200177170 Watercolor Block Cold Press, 12X16-Inch, 20 Sheets

This is the only watercolor paper I buy. I personally like the blocks best but will buy sheets of arches as well. Great quality. Don’t know if it makes me paint any better but it won’t be the cause of a bad painting.

This paper is recommended by all my watercolor teachers. It is excellent. It is forgiving for novices. It is expensive but worth it.

I use this in my studio and en plein air too. The paper is very workable even when very wet. Best to let it dry tight on the block before you remove it. Have used this for years and still get excited when I order a new one. I love to have different sizes. Hot snd Cold Press.

This paper is well worth the price. It’s excellent quality, holds up well to watercolor or acrylic. I always get archers.

Please be sure to research "hot pressed" compared to these "cold pressed" papers. Cold pressed papers absorb water faster and are slightly textured. The hot pressed papers are smooth and absord water slower. You choose which by your preference or needs.WARNING: To those who are new to this brand, the papers come stuck together (see pic). You separate each paper carefully by using a smooth knife or paint/putty spatula.
