The love of my life, who was a combat medic in the Vietnam War, was denied by a lady general, this Medal of Honor. This lady was on a power trip when she was made general. She had no experience in the medical field or nursing, but shot off her mouth to the medics taking care of the incoming soldiers who were burnt and in the burnt unit.My sweetheart and his medics were told by the surgeon general, to take off their uniform tops because when caring for the patients, who were in a sterile bed and area, the uniforms would flap over and break the sterile area and the medics would have to clean and sterilize the bed, patient and areas, again. Every time this happened, the medics would have to go through this procedure until the surgeon general gave the order to take off their tops.Of course, this lady general, who was visiting, trumped the surgeon general's order. My sweetheart argued with this lady and of course the power strict general won the battle. My sweetheart worked that evening in the officer's club as a bartender. This lady general came into the club, already half crocked and the argument started again between her and my sweetheart. The next day, my sweetheart was called into his platoon officer and was told, the lady general was putting in a complaint and the platoon officer said that my sweetheart would not be getting the Bronze Star that he deserved. My sweetheart was to get the Bronze Star because he was always working with the surgeons to remove grenades and bombs that were lodged in, incoming soldiers.My sweetheart recently died, and I know he always felt hurt that he was denied this medal. Luckily, surfing in Amazon, I came across this medical and bought it for my sweetheart. I put the medial with the honorary flag which was given to me. He should have never been denied this medal.
