Oh wow
Generally I don't write reviews if I'm satisfied with a product. It really takes alot for me to actually take the time to sit down and bother, as such, consider me thoroughly impressed. I'm no A/V guru, I don't have any fancy photodetectors or any of that jazz to measure light output/wavelengths/temperature etc.....They say it's 6500k output, great....Do I know for sure? Nah. Do I truly care? Not at all. Why? Because this product does what it advertises. It definitely reduces eye strain in a dark room. I did notice a really nice increase in contrast ratio with these equipped to my TV as well. Blacks are definitely deeper, overall just a much better picture. Alot of the clouding attributed to the edge-lighting is greatly diminished, but obviously, not completely gone. This is not some miracle that will make a low-end TV look cinema quality, but it gives a very noticeable difference. But truly, if not for anything else, it looks awesome. Really is a nice addition to my setup. If it didn't do all of the above and simply looked cool like it does, for the price, I'd keep it. Consider me sold on this product. Considering purchasing one for my monitor now as I type this review.I would definitely recommend purchasing two of these strips for a larger TV. I have a 60" LG LED TV, and I ran a strip about 2-3" inches from the top of the bezel and did the same for the bottom. I don't have it wrapping around or anything. Just two strips parallel to the top and bottom of the screen. Considering the whole point is to create some light AROUND the TV, not just behind it, I really can't see how a strip across the middle of the TV would be sufficient. I saved myself the potential aggravation and disappointment and just ran two from the get go. I'm quite certain I made the right decision in that regard. I'm definitely going to recommend this to my friends as a few of us are avid console gamers and all own larger TVs. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. The USB power is a major plus for me as it turns on and off with the television; some of the other bias lighting kits are more for form over function as they change various colors and have various strobe effects. That's fine and dandy but that's just 1 more remote to my setup as well as 1 more thing that can potentially be lost or stop working. I actually preferred these for that reason. They're cheaper, simpler, less to go wrong, and they simply work, and quite well at that. Get them on your TV.

So easy to install - works well
Prior to this, I had always illuminated behind the TV with a small lamp and soft bulb - but my recent configuration didn't allow for that without shadows on the ceiling. The Antec kit was the right price to take a gamble with and I don't regret it.Installation - Super simple. If it's too long, just snip where indicated. There is plenty of length to the USB cable to allow for most configs, in my case, I didn't even unravel the cord - I just plugged it in to the back of my set.Appearance - Looks amazing. I know there are a few detractors here claiming that this light isn't calibrated - but it's close enough for what most people will want it for - everyone will have a different wall color and the color of the light as it bounces off your walls will be different for everyone. What's important for me is that the contrast pops now - even the wife noticed it right off the bat without being lead to a conclusion.Quality - Not sure what to say about that - it's a long LED with a sticky back, a small on/off power switch and USB plug. It plugs in once and you probably never need to look at it again. If you want a quick picture boost - or just some cool factor for your tv setup this is a great affordable way to go.

Not Professionally Calibrated, Still Awesome USB powered backlight
This product gets 5 stars, because given the price and reasonable expectations, it fully delivers.WHAT YOU DON'T GET:If you have a pristine home theaters that costs thousands of dollars, this probably isn't the product for you. This thing is ~$20. Don't expect it to be proessionally calibrated to a perfectly neutral 65K kelvins...because it's not. Spend the extra money, and get a Perfect Lume.WHAT YOU DO GET:If you want a super easy to use, no-maintenence backlight that reduces eyestrain and allows you to better navigate a dark room, this thing is a dream. The light band itself has an adhesive backing that sticks to the back of your TV. Simply stick it on, plug the USB cord into a USB input, move the power switch to "on," and the light will turn on and off in concert with your TV. It's truly a beautiful thing. One thing to remember is that any further detail of my expereince of this product will differ from yours, as our TVs will be different distances from the wall, and our wall colors will be different, ect.-Alas, the light seems to give of a bluish tint. This is sure to scare away AV freaks, but will suit us mere mortals just fine (I'm a bit of an AV freak myself, but I live in an apartment on a budget).-Works well at night, in (otherwise) pitch dark by itself, but I also find myself leaving it on during the day, instead simply leaving off a lamp or two.-Reduces eyestrain, AKA makes watching TV in the dark easier and more enjoyable. Don't expect to be blown away at first and notice immediately a huge difference. It's moreso you DON'T notice anything, and that's how you know it's helping you.-Not gonna lie, I don't notice a big "pop" in contrast/ improved perceived picture quality...but now that I'm used to it, maybe watching without it would be noticeably worse? Hard to say.IN CONCLUSION:If you want a cheap backlight that you don't even have to manually turn on, then look no further. This no frills product will drif into the background of your set up, quietly improving your dark-room viewing experience without intruding too much. At the price for this quality, it cannot be beat.

Absolutely Amazing!
It's wonderful when a product is priced well and performs exactly as advertised! The light strip is very easy to install. I cut it at one of the "scissor markings" so it fits horizontally across the upper back of my 55-inch Sony X950G TV and attached it via its self-stick adhesive backing after first cleaning the TV's surface. However, at the end next to the cord, I added a narrow strip of duct tape to lend additional security for the added weight of the strip's power cord and switch. My TV sits on a stand with its back about 10 inches from the wall, so the white glow illuminates the light-beige colored wall with an all-round effect that makes the screen image pop. No additional lighting is needed in the room while watching TV. That said, I suspect that anyone having a TV mounted on the wall might need 2 strips to achieve the same lighting effect whereas with the TV on a stand it's perfect. This simple easy-to-install product effectively relieves eye strain in a dark room, improves the TV's perceived image quality, gives the illusion of a larger TV image and serves to deliver a great home theatre experience in your living room for very little cost. I LOVE it.

Really improves the look of your monitor
I was skeptical about this notion of "expanding the screen space beyond the borders of the monitor", and to be honest, I'm still not sold on it.However, what I can't argue with is that when the lights are switched on, they look AMAZING, reflecting off the wall behind the monitor. So you get this loooong strip of LEDs, and you start by sticking the end down nearest the USB port on your monitor. If you don't have USB ports on your monitor, you'll need to probably get a little extension cable... The wire they give you on this is long, but doesn't reach all the way to the back of my tower under the desk to my left. Then you stick the LEDs down by peeling off the backing tape. Getting the corners right is tricky because the LEDs are in a thick plastic half-tube, so you have to let the corners just kind of rib a little... Then up, over, down and bring it in at the far side.I have a 27" monitor, and this string was PERFECT for putting the LEDs about an inch in from the edges, with the end ending just shy of the gap at the base. If you have a larger monitor you can put the string further from the edge, and if smaller, closer to the edge. If your monitor is tiny, like 14", you'll have to clip the LEDs at the appropriate point to stop them overhanging the bottom of the monitor... Or you can do something else funky, but that's up to you.I'd say if your monitor is anywhere from 24" to 30" you'll find this string fits nicely. On the little USB cord there's a flick-switch, so you can turn the lighting off if you want. For example if you tend to leave your monitor in standby but the USB remains powered, you can just flick these lights off before you go to bed.The light is a nice soft white glow. Visible during the day, but supergorgeous at night. It lets me see my keyboard nicely, and provides a nice bias behind the monitor.I'm very impressed by thesee.. I didn't think it'd be worth it, but I was wrong... They're really nice!
