Heirloom quality
Mfg perfection!...handle fit & orientation, very sharp polished edge. L Comfortably slim handle is 4+" longer than GB SFA, and axe is only 4.4 ounces heavier. Plus head is cut out some for choking up for fine work....cheeks a bit thicker for splitting. All features some bushcraft folks seem to prefer over the SFA. And just for fun, check out Hultafors/Hults Bruk Ekelund hunter's axe, IMHO a GB SFA on steroids...same head shape as SFA but about 8 ounces heavier.

Super sharp, great axe
Now I can’t speak for longevity as i’ve had the aby forest axe only a few days, however out of the box the axe had a great looking polish on the grind while leaving the forge scale on the rest of the head (looks great and the forge scale helps to prevent further oxidation) but as far as chopping goes i haven’t had any issues and it feels great in the hand, if i remember to update on how it stands the test of time i will.

Super sharp
The media could not be loaded. Superb quality. The axe is sharp enough to cut paper right out of the box. I chopped and whittled with it a little bit already. I’m going to get in the woods and put it through it’s paces but I have no reservations about the capability of this axe. The quality is next level.

Bonding with this Axe
I chose Hultafors believing in it's integrity. Although the axe I received was not what I was expecting, I developed a bond with it instantly. An axe is a person's best friend that will assist you in a myriad of task and situations. I know I can trust this Axe and that it will take care of me as I take care of it. Hultafors makes an excellent product.

BUY IT NOW!
This axe is perfect. I didn't need a full-size axe for felling or chopping enormous logs. But this thing is lighter than my camp carver hatchet and the longer handle gives me extra leverage when splitting small logs. It's RAZOR sharp as well. The smaller head and light weight make it useful for small intricate tasks such as feathersticking. I realy can't say enough good about this. It pairs nicely with the 21" Agawa Boreal Saw (in terms of length) they pair perfectly in the Campcraft canvas axe carrier. It's well worth the money.

Great craftsmanship!
I needed a great splitting axe. This does it. But vs. Knotted wood, falls very short. But it cuts, and cuts, and cuts endlessly on non knotty wood.I'm happy with it so farr. I'll update later when I've used it more.

Much better quality than my granfors bruk. HB is the way to go.

as pictured on Amazon
Symmetrical head. Finish is as forged. Nicely sharp. Handle grain is a bit twisted for a tool of this cost. Handle is rough sanded and oiled. Also it's a bit proud at the top. This should make a good tool once the handle is smoothed a bit. There are so few choices for a new, high quality axe. It's a shame that for $170.00 an axe factory can't turn out a better finished product.
