it was a real balancing act to mount in the rack. Even without the batteries in the unit is fairly heavy. Works well and looks nice. APC has the best reputation in this segment so let's hope it works as well as advertised.

works great but APC support sucks hard.we have a rack with square holes and cage nuts the provided racks DO NOT WORK with that configuration after several hours on the phone and many transfers i gave upi put the screws into the provided rack and hit it with a hammer to remove the captive nut after that i was able to get our larger screws for the cage nut in and rack it. a 30 min task took ALL DAY BECAUSE APC SUPPORT DOESN'T KNOW THEIR OWN PRODUCTS.

APC just makes a great UPS. Unpacked, connected battery lead to terminal, plugged in devices. Not much to getting power. Loaded the management software and got my systems configured to shutdown based on AC/Battery power status. Great unit.

because this does not support linux i will never buy it, and it is yet another big strike against APC

Had to return as it did not meet our needs to replace our older unit.

This APC unit is a great starter unit for rack mounting in a server rack. It has enough capacity to cover minor outages such as I encounter at most of my customers when the emergency generator tests are run (weekly). They are all fire department or local governments. None of these type units will provide more than 10-20 minutes run time for a bank of servers depending on configuration so don't expect to be off line power for any length of time and still have servers up. It'll take more capacity than one of these has.

This unit is a must to protect servers and networking equipment.
