The Best You'll Likely Find
I have had good success with Keystone dehumidifiers. This is the 3rd Keystone unit we have purchased for use in our basement (roughly 1265 sq ft with a ground-level walkout sliding door). The first two were KSTAD models with the pump even though that feature is not needed in our use. We install the dehumidifier about 2-1/2 feet off of the floor up on a small platform in the partially partitioned utility area of our basement. That allows use of a continuous drain hose into our existing PVC piping which leads to sump pump. The basement is semi-finished (some stud walls and carpeted TV/recreation areas, a small storage room and a woodworking shop area, but ceiling not finished and some perimeter walls are simply painted/waterproofed block). The openness appears to be enough to allow air flow for the dehumidifier to effectively control humidity throughout. Our 1st unit worked well for a couple of years under continuous use, however our 2nd unit worked well for a full 8 years.I installed our new Keystone (model without the pump feature) on 8/2/24 to replace another brand which I unfortunately tried after checking out the competition and reviews. The other brand had similarly sized application and a slightly lower price at the time, but failed to meet our expectations. It was installed at humidity 68, but after 6 weeks, failed to reach less than 56 and often was in low 60s .We have previously experienced Keystone units easily reaching and maintaining humidity in the 40s as desired. Our new Keystone read 58 when installed (same as that other brand just disconnected) and after just 6 days has dried the basement to 48 notwithstanding a period of humid summer days, occasional line drying of a few items in the washer/dryer utility area, and even the passage today of Post-Tropical Cyclone Debby in our mid-Atlantic location.I am well satisfied already with the Keystone performance, and hoping the length of service is again many years to confirm staying with the Keystone brand. I have accepted the error of my ways; wasted time & comfort trying another brand. In my opinion, this is the best dehumidifier you'll likely find for both ease of use and good performance.

Totally shocked at just how much water this Keystone Dehumifier collect in just one day. Wow.
Humidity has been an issue this year and after looking at the reviews we opted for the Keystone 50 Pint Dehumidifier. Positive aspects are it lives up to the specs and the entire collection bucket is near 90% full after running overnight. The "Comfort" setting is a one menu button, set it and forget it. Automatically maintains the humidity from 45%-55%, seems to stick around the range of 43%. As for the packaging and unboxing. The unit was shipped with ample foam and even had a pull off box top for easy unboxing. Also has excellent instructions. Overall, impressed and confident this was the unit to get for 4500 sq ft coverage.Negatives: It's a bit louder than expected, but no worse than a window air conditioner sound level due to the compressor. Best setting is the "Comfort" to ease of use.Since now having this new Dehumidifier I've emptied it four times each with at least 1.7 Gallons of water collected.I wish all products were as good as this Keystone all the way from the packaging to the user manual to the operation. It is wrong to love a Dehumidifier :)

Doing it's job in the basement
The Keystone 50-pint dehumidifier has done a nice job of reducing the humidity in our basement. The unit is relatively quiet and the attached drain hose system works well (you must purchase drain hose). The only knock (4-stars) is that the digital humidity reader tends to jump around so the accuracy is suspect. I bought a small humidity/temp meter to place in the basement to get accurate humidity readings. Seems well built, I'm pleased.

Very Quiet
The best feature of this dehumidifier is how quietly it runs. I have had mine for over five years, and it runs like it is brand new. When two of my children bought new homes, with basements, I bought both of them this dehumidifier. The water tank is a good size and the humidity control setting and auto shut off work great. To simplify the process, I walk down the basement with a bucket, pour the water from the water tank into the bucket, and then walk upstairs with the bucket. That way, I am only making one trip down to the basement, aside from draining the water into my sewer line.

Works well, but it's not quiet
This works pretty well, but it's definitely not quiet, even on the lower fan setting. Don't expect to be able to watch tv in the same room with it running. We have it set up in our main living area, near our central air intake vent, and with the a/c running and circulating air, it does a good job of dehumidifying the entire house (approximately 1500 square feet) this way. We mostly run it overnight, so it's less bothersome, and if I start it around 10pm, it's almost always off by 7am due to the canister being full. (We live in a very humid coastal area.) You can set it to run continously OR there's an option to select the humidity level you want it to start/stop at. I've tested that function during the day, and it does work as it should.I'll update down the line if we have any issues or if it stops functioning unreasonably soon. We've only been using it for a few months so far, but I'm happy with it. It was rated best overall for humid southern climates when I researched, and at this point, I don't disagree.

Best dehumidifier in decades!
We’ve gone through probably 10 dehumidifiers in 23 years, and this one is absolutely the most effective of any we’ve owned. A local store recommended this model, but we got a far better deal on Amazon. The instructions are kind of vague, so it took a little trial and error to figure out how to change the humidity percent setting, but it works very well. We’re emptying the bucket twice a day rather than attaching a hose currently. We recommend this to anyone needing a dehumidifier for a ~1000 sq ft basement.
