JR - Large Swimming Cap for Children - Designed for Long Hair, Dreadlocks, Weaves, Hair Extensions, Braids, Curls & Afros - Silicone

My son has very curly, long hair and needed something to protect it and keep it out of his face while swimming. I use a Tyr brand "long hair" swim cap when I swim but it was too tight for him to get it on by himself and it didn't have enough space for all his hair. I ordered the Soul Cap Jr. (Large) and it fit all his hair with room to spare, plus it was easier to stretch when putting it on so he could get it on by himself comfortably. He flips the sides up so it doesn't cover his ears and so he can hear better at practices. I was very impressed with how little water got inside. His hair was only damp around the edge and dry everywhere else. I've included pictures with the Tyr long-hair cap (black) and the Soul Cap (Navy Blue) together to show the size difference. The Soul Cap is only slightly bigger at the base where it fits your forehead (less than 1/2-inch more than the Tyr when laid flat in comparison), but the material on the Soul Cap feels easier to stretch so it makes it easier to get on without compromising the seal to keep the water out. I'm so glad I found this cap!

I was unsure if I would be able to preserve my daughter’s braided hairstyle while she takes swimming lessons, because none of the caps in stores would fit all of her braids. I was happy to find that the soul cap could fit ALL of her hair, and still give us a decent seal around the edges. There are times when a little water gets in, but overall, the hair has been mostly dry. I would purchase again!

I got this in a medium for my 8yr old with braids. I put her braids up in a bun and this cap still has room so that is good. I also used it for myself and it fits fine. I don't know if there is a cap out there that keeps your hair completely dry and if that is the aim, this cap may not be a choice but if you are ok with some dampness, this works. I love that you can pull it over your ear, but I could barely hear my instructor when I pulled it over my ear.

My child's hair stayed dry the entire time doing swim class. She has thick hair and it was enough room for her hair. She is black. It stayed in place. Also it arrived right on time before swim class, since i forgot to order ahead of time. Love this cap!

Probably the best for big curly hair. Kept my daughter hair dry the best and she feels its the most comfortable for all of her swim caps. I clouding her TYR long hair, hairbella, and her swim team caps. She has plenty of room in it for any style and is impressed when she isn't wet. The elasticity is great. The black color is pretty neutral and works well for any swim meet. Overall the best quality for the price cap I have bought. Will be buying another. My daughter is 10 and I got her a medium.

I have the youth large. It’s a comfortable fit to use along with googles. However, your hair will get wet if you do the freestyle stroke while turning your head to breath. I suppose if you stick to the breaststroke, your hair will remain dry. If it was only my hairline getting wet, that’d be fine. But water seeps beyond that after while and can soak portions of your hair.

It really works my daughter has in braids and her hair have not gotten wet using the cap. Good buy.

This was not what was expected. This cap does not protect hair from getting wet. Don't recommend

Got a size M. The cap is very tight around my 6 year old's head, making her forehead almost look deformed. Although the cap is tight and stays on, the hair still gets wet underneath. Would not recommend this.

It's the second one I buy of these, as my daughter's swimming teachers use cap colour coding to identify the skill level (got the blue and now the green one). It's brilliant and works very well. It's so easy to put on and put all the hair inside, and it's not too tight as swimming caps usually are, so it's comfortable to wear. I've never had a complain from my daughter so I love it! The hair stays reasonably dry so even in cold winter days we can make it home from the pool without her freezing due to wet hair. And it lasts for a long time; after more than a year using it, it is still as new.
