Very durable resin, but keep in mind the short working time
I used this resin to cast a recurve bow grip I had made a mold for. It works very well and I haven't had any issues with the several I've made. So far the parts have been very durable in regards to impacts and especially vibration from the bow. I made the grips so I didn't have to modify my original, and the cast versions have had two part putty added to them with no adhesion issues, and have also been sanded and shaped. The resin tends to clog sandpaper pretty quick, but that is somewhat expected. Releases from the mold quickly and easily, but I do use a mold release just to make sure. It is a fast setting resin with a short working time and tends to get pretty warm, so when using lower quality silicone for a mold it might degrade the mold a little bit quicker. I haven't experienced that yet though.

Pours easily. Sets fast. But be cautious of fumes.
I'm pretty happy with this casting resin. It sets up within half an hour of starting mixing. It sets up slower or faster depending on how hot it gets, and the reaction it undergoes while setting up generates significant heat. What that means in practical terms is that thin and small casts will take ~30 minutes before you can demold, while thicker and/or larger (non-hollow) castings can set up in ~10-15 minutes. The quick set time and thin viscosity make it great for roto-casting, which is hollow casting by rotating the mold while the resin sets. Expect to roto-cast at least 2 layers, and more like 4-6 for larger objects. It pours and mixes clear, but sets up opaque white, which will significantly affect whatever colors you mix in. For me to get a middle grey, I have to add a significant amount of black. Far more than I'd need for clear resins. I use powdered charcoal for black - you can get it for free from a half-burned log left over from a camp fire.

Comparable to Smooth-Cast 300
This was really close to being a 5 star for me, but compared to Smooth-Cast 300, this stuff is less forgiving and has a tendency to get rubbery and soft if the measurements are even slightly off. I do small, frequent roto-cast batches, so it is easy for me to see this issues with it. The 300 doesn't do this so easily. I tried this version because at the time, the 300 was about 40 dollars, and decided to try this out for 25. It still works really well, just make sure you don't slip up on the amounts you are pouring for each part. If you are looking for something more reliable and rigid, I recommend the 300.

Perfect for Starter Propmaker
To make this simple, the product is easy enough for a beginner propmaker with next to no experience/knowledge. Easy 1:1 ratio mixing, the resin is easy to roto cast, and hardens to a solid product. I am finally casting my own helmets and I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality.DISCLAIMER: the helmets I casted using this product have slight defects in them because of a mistake made on my end of making the silicone mold. If you’re silicone mold is done right, your castings will come out perfect, if not close to. Happy casting fellow propmakers!
