Caykur Turkish Black Tea, Filiz 1000g

Best quality Turkish tea, good price.

My Turkish friends recommended this tea. I like the flavor - it's a nice change from the "malty" Tao of Tea flavor I usually drink, and far less expensive. My only complaint is that I use a tea strainer device that sits on the rim of my mug or teapot to brew my teas, and the leaf of this tea is like tiny crumbles; a fair amount goes through the fine mesh. No biggie - I have paper tea filters I fill and put in the mug - but when I run out, I'll need to either buy more tea filters or break down and buy a French press type gadget, which I really prefer not to do. My Turkish friends have a large Turkish carafe-type press they use (I see Amazon sells them) and if you have that or a French press, the tiny flakes won't be an issue. Anyway, my next purchase should probably be the little curvy Turkish tea glasses my friends serve their tea in, to make the experience more "authentic."

Don’t listen to others who tell you that this tea is not good. It is exactly the tea you get in Turkey, that remembers you on warm summer evenings sitting outside with friends and family and enjoying the pleasant warm breeze and the sound of the ocean. That is Turkey.I have been drinking this tea for years and always recommend it.
