Great Tasting Coffee ☕️
Lovely Coffee just the right balance of sweet and bitter for a latte. I can see why they have won a great taste award.

Unimpressed
Not great, lacked punch. I put in extra spoonfuls, but still lacked flavour.

Not a mind-blowing flavour, but entirely pleasant
Just before Christmas I invested in an Aeropress coffee maker which has revolutionized my enjoyment of coffee. Instead of using a filter machine that makes a jug of half a dozen cups of coffee, usually only one of which ever gets drunk and the rest poured down the sink cold, the Aeropress makes one cup at a time, and the taste is impeccable. One big thing I've gained from the experience is a deeper enjoyment of various different coffee types. So, this is a Columbian coffee that has been ground in Dublin and under the Fixx brand. Sealed very firmly in a metallic orange pouch, the design on the outside with little touches like the zig-zag trimmed front label shout of something that might stand out on a supermarket shelf, but of course here we are buying it online where different metrics apply.I've been drinking coffee for 43 years now, after discovering Gold Blend when I was 12. In my early twenties I explored ground coffees and quickly settled on Columbian as my favourite. But times change and nowadays it's a coffee type I only buy occasionally. I usually have a bunch of packs on the go, because as I say, the Aeropress changes the way you drink coffee, and packs last a lot longer when you only drink one scoop at a time from them.Making this Fixx coffee in the Aeropress and adding Oatly Barista milk ends up, no matter how strong I make it, in very smooth and not unpleasant taste. Describing it as not unpleasant sounds like being damned by faint praise, but actually coffee can quite frequently taste unpleasant, especially when strong, and that's not the case here. But at this cost-per-pack I really need a taste that's more memorable than this. I'd certainly try the Fixx brand again and would offer this coffee to someone who expresses a preference for Columbian.

Pleasantly forgettable
To me this coffee is on the mild and smooth side, and a touch watery (if that makes sense), but that allows some other taste details to shine through that you don’t always pick up with more powerful or bitter brews- but only if you want to pay attention to it. Otherwise, if having a mug of this while at work, it becomes a very quaffable but forgettable brew that can wash over you a little bit. This is especially true if you try it with milk. The aroma goes the same way. It’s a touch nutty, and a little sweeter than average maybe, but it’s a little lacking in punch. It’s a fine grind and works absolutely fine in my coffee machine, again on the unremarkable side. I’m not wholly sold on the orange packaging with crosses all over it- I think perhaps the graphic designer had sampled too much of the product before knocking that particular design out. It is quality packaging with a freshness seal though, so faulting it for that is purely a subjective aesthetic thing. At time of writing this is fairly expensive for 250g of Colombian ground coffee, and unfortunately I don’t think the taste shines through or shows enough distinctive quality to really justify it. It’s pleasant enough, and will certainly get drunk with no issues, but I always hope for a little more ‘wow’ factor.

FIXX Seattle Ground Coffee
I used this FIXX coffee in my filter coffee machine and it made a tasty cup of java. The taste is not too bitter and it is ground just enough to release the flavour, but without that dustiness you get from cheaper brands. The taste is quite mild compared to some other deep roasted coffee I have tried before and it'll give a nice flavour without blowing your head off or giving you the shakes. As good as any other premium brands I have tried in the past and one I would buy again.

Very expensive for a less premium tasting blend.
This is a fine ground coffee blend, which works well in my coffee maker. It has a light to medium strength flavour and isn't as bitter tasting as some of the stronger blends, but comes out quite weak, so if you have milk, it is a bit pale looking. It is a 250g bag and at almost £7 at time of review, this seems a bit overpriced, as it is not the best ground coffee I have tried and the price seems more premium than the coffee. However, it is nice enough if you prefer a milder coffee.

Unremarkable Flavour (And about as "Seattle" as a pint of Guiness)
Sad to say that this is pretty poor stuff - light on flavour, heavy on price, it seems to be a prime example of style over substance. I had to load twice my usual amount of coffee to get a reasonably strong cup, and even then it just made it to acceptable. At the price, not a brand I'll be revisiting. (Oh, and it isn't ground, blended or even packed in Seattle - it's produced in Dublin under licence).

Average
I'm not a huge fan of very strong/bitter coffee so on that count this one gets three stars from me; it isn't overly strong, however, it verges of the weak side and just a little too weak for me.I brought it into the office for others to try and it was a mixed reaction from eugh to perfect! So this one is entirely dependent on your personal tastes I guess.I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either which means I'd probably not buy it again.
