A must for anyone that has anything to do in another individual's personal growth
There are so many lessons jam-packed into this story, that you might miss half of them the first time reading it. Since this is a fable with the lessons thrown in, you might read through them just thinking to yourself "oh that was good" and then forget about it. If you're unfamiliar with Martin Rooney, then you better grab a pen when you read this. Underline every part that pops out at you, write on the margin how it applies or could apply to you, and asterisk the lessons you really need to work on.If you've been lucky to have a great parent, teacher, or coach, you'll realize why some of the things they did were so impactful. And it also opens your eyes to the other side of that coin. This book could save you years of frustration and learning the hard way.

Universal People Skills
Coach to Coach is an uplifting, motivational book for me personally, for everyone in my family, and for all of my friends. The medium used is an experienced coach who helps a floundering coach. The author asks a great question, “Where do you want to go?” The answer is supplemented by questions and principles that are timeless. Each point is made memorable through the stories about universal people skills everyone can relate to, no matter what you do in life. This book is a classic, one that contains life lessons that are and will be applicable for forever. Coach to Coach is a must read!!

Everyone is a coach in their own right. THIS IS A MUST READ!
Everyone is a coach. You don't have to run a football team to use the life-changing principles Martin uncovers in Coach to Coach. This book is a must for anyone that is looking to help get the best out not only others they come in contact with, but most importantly, themselves. As always with Martin's style; he takes the big, complex ideas, and breaks them down in a language and manner that is easy to understand and apply in real life scenarios.I couldn't recommend this book enough. It's a must have and a must read. I personally purchased copies for my entire team.

A Golden Notebook: A quick-reference guide for key coaching lessons
Coach to Coach is an easy-to-read parable of two coaches that offers key reminders of what it means and how to be a good "coach" (whether in the traditional sense or in other aspects of our lives). As with many things in life, especially where health and fitness are concerned, we know what we should do, but often we don't actually do them (e.g., exercise daily, eat our veggies, get enough sleep). The same is true with these lessons. Rooney presents relatively simple ideas, many of which we may already know, but often we don't execute them well (e.g., telling the people we care about that we're proud of them). That is to say, there's nothing complicated here. Instead, the book is a helpful reminder of what we should be doing if we want to be great leaders, and it frames the lessons in an approachable way. In the story, the older coach—the mentor—gifts a gold notebook to the younger coach and encourages him to write down the lessons he's learned and his thoughts on how to be a great coach; this book is our golden notebook as coaches. I can see this book serving as a quick-reference guide when I need a bit of motivation or to recalibrate in order to continue improving myself as a coach.

From a coach to a coach
Whether you are a coach as an occupation, hobby, or a parent, we are all coaches. Martin's book really highlights the importance of people who helps others succeed. The book is very well written and the narrative flows. I don't know if you've met Martin in real life, but he is very eloquent and has a way with words. The book reads as if he is having a conversation with you. I highly recommend to everyone. We all as people who hold relationships in many hats have something to gain from this book. I know for me, as a parent, a judo coach, a business owner, I learned a tremendous amount from the wise words of Martin Rooney. I had the pleasure of being of his students as a young age and i want to add that Martin practices what he preaches. Definitely definitely, go buy this book!

We need this book now more than ever! #coachingwhileflatteningthecurve
I read Coach to Coach almost as soon as it arrived. I loved every minute of it!! I am a Sales Leader for a very active and profitable Weichert Realtors sales office in NJ. I have 93 associates that I "coach" on a daily basis. But never has being a coach been more important and necessary than right now with what is going on in the world with Covid-19! I have a responsibility to my team to make sure they are kept informed and try to keep them as calm and reassured as possible while still trying to give them assurance that we will be ok and keep working. Taking allot of what Martin says into consideration has helped me change some of my own coaching principles while keeping myself focused during this difficult time has been soooo helpful for me. I highly recommend this book to anyone in any walk of life that is a coach or needs a coach!

It’s ok
This is a great story with very good cues, stories to be a better person, coach, husband, father, person, how to explore why you do what you do. Self exploration and common sense.Done in a overly sweet over the top format, I found that made it hard to get through after a while I just wanted it to be done .Quite a predictable finish. Glad I read it would be wonderful for discussion group with kids.

If you're a leader in any aspect of life, this is the book you need
As a personal trainer always looking to provide more value to my clients and those I come into contact with, "Coach to Coach" was a much needed book well worth its weight in gold. Coach Rooney tells the story of Brian Knight, a football coach who lost the reason why he got into coaching in the first place. Throughout the book, Brian rediscovers his purpose and his passion with the help of an old coach he meets.Reading this book helped me rediscover my WHY. It helped me to learn WHAT a coach is, and what a coach is NOT.Whether you are a coach at home, a coach on the field, or a coach who, like Brian, has lost their way and wants to rediscover your purpose, you NEED to read this book."...A coach has to teach with enthusIASM like there is no tomorrow, but remember to learn..."

Very Easy to Read and Apply
As a personal trainer, a father, and generally as a human being, this book has been very useful. It's set up as a story, which is not what I was expecting at all! But I'm glad it was, as it soon seemed more engaging and easy to read. Split into short lessons within the story, and not being a long book overall, it's easy to take the bits out, act on them, and apply them in the different places that you might need. I've honestly read nothing like it. Very well thought out.

Great book to refresh the soft skills
Great book as always and completely different to what I was expecting. Most coaching books center around what shouldn't be done and corrected by this is how you coach like me content. What's usually left out unlike this book is all the soft skills you need as a coach to get the buy in from a client.I once read somewhere that you can have the best program in the world, but you can't get the client to buy in then it's not worth the paper it's written on.Coach to coach offers a wide variety of skills that most people either forget. Or because they get to a certain level that they've longer require the skills that got them to where they are.

Must have for coaches
This is a book for coaches without a doubt, there’s subtle hidden lessons throughout the book so it’s not just a one time read! The book highlights the importance the coaching role has, while I’m not in the same position as the coach in the book, the skills within are certainly transferable, not only into the coaching role I do but also into all walks of life, or careers! Well worth the read! And well worth the few pounds Spent!
