Best Value for Your Money
I received this camera case a few days ago. It is a perfect fit for my Canon T2i w/kit lens, UV filter, and lens cap attached. It is a nice snug fit and will not move around in this case. It has nice padding, and the material is pretty stiff, but I wouldn't call it "semi hard", as the product description indicates. I don't have the optional battery grip, which attaches underneath the camera body, so I don't know how tight of a fit that would be, but I did try wrapping the strap around the body and it didn't fit very well, had to wrap it around the lens instead. There is a reinforced metal loop attached for an exterior carrying strap. The case opens from the right and is attached with velcro. I agree with other reviews that metal snaps would have made the case more secure, but the Canon case didn't provide anything better with a velco fastener of their own. If you own a longer lens I would not suggest getting this case, but it would certainly accommodate a wider lens. This case resembles the same one made by Canon, but this one is less than half the price(I suspect they are both made by the same manufacturer). No pockets, but I intend on carrying this in a larger camera bag, so they're not really needed.5 stars for this product, especially because it's of comparable quality to the name brand but only costs a fraction of the price. Free shipping sealed the deal. If your equipment and needs resemble mine, and you don't want to overpay for a camera case, then I highly suggest this product.UPDATE: I just discovered there are strategic openings that your camera straps can go through when the case is closed(BTW, the case did not come with any instructions or suggestions). This makes buying an external carrying strap unnecessary as you can carry the camera and case together while the straps are still attached to the camera. It's balanced well so there is little chance of the camera falling out while you're carrying it. Only drawback is, case doesn't have its own strap, so you'll have to either buy a strap for it so you can sling it on your shoulder while you're taking pictures, or put the case down somwhere. I'll most likely have a camera bag with me, so having a convenient place to drop the case won't be an issue.

Decent case, but cannot use lens hood with 18-55mm kit lens
The Janco Semi-hard Zoom Case For The Digital Rebel T1i XSi XS 650D 600D 550D 500D 1000D 450D with zoom lens replace EH-18L & EH19-L is a decent substitute for the OEM Canon version, EH19-L Semi Hard Case , which is exponentially more expensive. Note that this is not like the body-mounted covers from the 60's - 80's where the body had a half-sleeve screw-mounted to the body with a detachable lens cover. This is an all-in-one cover, but the only attachment to the camera body is a small, snap-closure loop to attach the cover to your camera's strap. My camera has a 18-55mm kit lens, and this cover *just* fits it. However, when I attach the lens hood, I cannot close the back of the case to secure the camera in the sleeve. The case seems to be pretty well-constructed in a medium darkness gray. It has some padding to it, but it is not going to provide much protection if you drop the camera, though it will provide more than a bare camera has. This case is mainly going to be good for protecting from minor bumps experienced when sightseeing or hiking with a DSLR in tow. I did feel that the case would be in the way when trying to take a picture, but that is also just my opinion. Your experience may see the function/design as suitable for your needs.Bottom line: If you need an inexpensive "quick" case for your stock DSLR with kit lens, I think this is going to be a good solution for you. You will need to get comfortable with using it to take pictures given how the case attaches to your strap though.

Solid product, unsure how it compares with original
This is my first semi-soft case, and I haven't seen Canon's version so I can't compare the two. The construction looks to be of very high quality. My T3i fits just fine, if not a little tight around the grips.I wouldn't say this case is hard, it is soft all around, but there is a lot of padding. I expected some surfaces to be harder. Still, with the padding I feel confident carrying my camera in this case when on the go.

Great at a great price
I was in the market for a case for my EOS Rebel XS and almost purchased the EH-19-L Semi-Hard case from Canon but couldn't justify paying almost $60 for it just because it had Canon's name on it. So I looked around and stumbled across this case for $20 and bought it. It was just what I had hoped for: a minimalistic design with a solid and durable construction at a good price. It fits my needs perfectly as I wasn't looking for bulky, bullet-proof protection but rather a convenient way to store, carry and access my camera. My camera fits like a hand in glove within the case ( I just have a stock 18-55mm lens). I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this to others in the market for a similar type of case.

Almost fits.
I purchased this for my Canon T3i so I can take my camera to school in my back pack. Instead of taking my camera bag and my back pack I could just throw my camera in this and take it in my back pack with out damaging it. So I received this today and noticed right away that it just does not fit around the camera, you have to pull it in order to close and it still does not close properly. It could close if I do not put my lens on my camera but now I need a separate lens case for that as well. I have it with the stock lens (18-55mm) that came with the camera. For protection for a valuable camera it just does not perform at 100 percent, can jimmy rig it to close properly but why, I bought this so I would not have to do that in the first place. It is ok to store your camera but with out the lens attached, with the lens does not feel as protected as it should.

Sturdy, light, protective.
This semi-hard case was just what I was looking for. The case has a snap so that it can hang off my camera's strap while I'm taking pictures. Very reasonable price.

can not fit my 18-200 lens
I saw the specification said it can fit Canon 450D, But in fact it can not afford my 18-200 lens, so I returned it. the quality of product is OK.

Works well with Canon Ti2,Ti3, Ti4, and Ti5.
This case has worked well for me. I would like to see some changes in the design, but it does the job and the price was right.
