I've been wanting to expand more pro-features of my camera phone. This often means longer "shutter" times and a good tripod. I've got good tripods for my DSLR cameras but only crappy table-top style tripod for phones that a good wind could easily be blown over in a strong wind. I wanted to use my good tripods for my phone that would easily allow me to change orientations and could be used with a base plate for my tripod. This one does everything I'll need! Unlike some other "360" mounts, they often can truly do 360 because the my phone's body is long and will bash against the bottom of the mount itself. This one uses a rotating ball mount that holds the camera body for enough away from the mount so now I can easily from potrait to landscape simply by loosining the ball joint, pivoting and then re-tightening. As an addition benefit, the ball jobs pivot all the way down to 0 degrees, so this will allow me to do some astral photography...with a great tripod and a study mount! The device is well made, compact and it's sold at a great price.

I was very unhappy with the tripod/monopod mount that I had before and sent it back to Amazon because I was not able to loosen the holder on both sides so that I could center my phone in the holder on my monopod. I mean really. Who wants to have his or her camera off to one side on a monopod? So I ordered this and it does just that— allows me to open the holder on both sides so that I can center my phone. The holder is spring loaded and I suppose the function is to stabilize the clamps and keep the them against the screws. I have no use for the thing that comes down that allows you to use it as a little tripod stand on a table but it's functional if you want it. I got exactly what I wanted it for— a nice substantial although light weight holder with which I can center my phone on my monopod. Since I'm using a monopod I don't have much use for the ball head that is in the phone holder so I just keep it closed in a horizontal and vertical 90° position vis a vis the monopod and then move my monopod when I need to—but it's certainly nice to have and works well. I put my phone in the phone holder and then tightened down the screws so that the phone was centered on my monopod. Then when I want to remove or insert the phone I simply loosen the screw on one side. Four quick turns and it can be put either in or take out real fast. I find it holding the phone with only my hand is not a very steady affair but with a phone in the monopod I can set it on the chair for example I'm sitting or flip open a leg or two of my monopod and put it on the floor and can get a picture with virtually no movement and with quick operation; it's a really nice set up. I feed the pigeons at my house and some of them are so beautiful but they move fast and this allows me to capture a lot of shots with clarity that I would miss without the monopod. Materials of the holder seem to be very good. I can't believe how good the 48 megapixel pictures are with my iPhone!

I personally think this is the best adapter on Amazon. It's sturdy metal construction. Has its own stand that can be rotated I to position to use it as a tabletop phone stand. It's adjustable ball head design makes it super easy to position your phone where you want it. It's dual thumb screws for securing the phone are robust and not going to lose their grip on your device. This is much sturdier and higher quality than a typical plastic one and it's design and features make it the winner when compared to other alumin

It feels nice and sturdy. All parts are made out of Aluminum or Metal. It should last much longer than a bunch of plastic parts.I like that it has it's own built in ball head that you can adjust the angle of the phone in case you want to use the phone holder on your table or desk for video conferencing. It has a little swing out foot to add stability when using it on your desk.I like that it has a built in Swiss Arca mount on the bottom so you can just slide it directly onto your tripod, if you are using that type of mount. If not, it has a 1/4"-20 hole at the bottom to mount your own tripod mounting plate.The only issue that I have with the phone holder is , that I wish it opened up a little bit wider, like a 1/4". It barely fit my iPhone Max with my Supcase UB Pro case on it. I had the phone clamp opened up to it's widest position and it barely fit. Even then, it's pretty snug. If your case is a bit thicker, it may not fit at all. So just be careful it you are using a wider phone.Otherwise a really nicely built phone holder for your tripod or desk.

This is a well made piece of gear that is engineered to hold a cell phone wherever and however you seek to use it. This was a game changer in my workspace because I found myself loosing track of my phone, dropping it, knocking it over and always scrambling for a place to prop it up. Now I have created a space for this crafty little device to hold my phone on my iPad stand. I used a utility clamp to attach this phone holder to the stand. I can move this to wherever I want within my studio for hands free operation. This thing is built solid and should last indefinitely. A great purchase that I wish I had made sooner. I love this and highly recommend it for anyone needing to use their cell phone on a mounted surface.
