Mask ~ The Mask: Music From The Motion

One of the best movie soundtracks ever! High quality jazz and swing music.
To me The Mask is the best movie from Jim Carrey partly because he acts two characters well (Stanley Ipkiss and the Mask) and partly because of the brilliant soundtrack. Without the music it would be a mediocre, sh*tty comedy! But that superb songs and those crazy dance scenes add a lot quality to the movie.Just to add an anecdote, shortly after when I saw the movie for the first time I bought the soundtrack and listened to it every freakin' day. I was just 13, but I couldn't stop to listen all those fantastic swing and jazzy songs. That time all of my classmates with bad taste listened to those garbage pop (s)hits and they looked me as if I was crazy. Poor little b*stards! :)))))Unfortunately, I lost the CD in some house party, but recently I ordered a new one!My absolute favourite is the third track called This Business of Love which is a fabolous swing with fantastic instrumentation and with a gorgeous raspy-voiced singer. I also love the song called Who's That Man which is an R&B and Hi De Ho from K7 a cool hip-hop. They both are jazz-influenced songs with brass instruments. To sum up, I think this is one of the best movie soundtracks ever. If you like jazz and swing, good instrumentation, great singers and well written, high quality music, don't hesitate to grab a copy for yourself!

The Mask soundtrack w/multiple artists
Bought the wrong soundtrack at first. Ordered the soundtrack with the songs from the movie. I love this movie and it's catch upbeat songs. Had the cd once before, but I lost it. Glad to have it again. Jim Carrey rocks in the movie and this soundtrack rocks too. Be sure to check the cd to make sure you have the right one!!! Look for songs by Tony Toni Tone, XScape, and Harry Connick, Jr. to name a few. Love it!!!! Lula H-C.

Sssssomebody anybody listen up to the P.A.R.T.Y.
THIS is a MUST OWN for any fan of THE MASK. I'm not just a fan, yet also a collector & even bigger fan of the comic books from the original version (BIG HEAD) From the 1980's & 1990's. The music is very upbeat, energetic, jazzy, swingin, sassy, brassy & classy. You'll not regret owning a copy of this album & it never gets old. The type of album that is even appropriate for exercise, aerobics, jazzersize, & more.

Cd music
Please note that the cd was not new as no cellophane over cd cover. Like new is more correct to cd. However this was the last one available at the time. This love the music content.

The music made the movie....
From Cuban Pete by Jim Carrey to Xcape's Who's that man and Hi de ho by K7 this cd has captured the essence of the movie. Now I can't here Hey Pachuco by Royal Crown Revue or any of the other songs on the cd without scenes from the movie popping into my head, and that's what these tracks are supposed to do. The movie is a classic and The Mask music from the motion picture cd will be too.

Fun soundtrack
I owned this soundtrack on cassette tape when the movie was first released. I had so much fun listening to the updated swing and jazz songs and was very happy to buy it again on CD. (I wish it was MP3, but we can't always get what we want!) The songs are light and just plain old fun: where else can you find Harry Conick, Jr. AND Jim Carrey singing on the same album?!

Better soundtrack than movie
This soundtrack is excellent. Swing and jazz with a modernized (early '90s) hip-hop/r&b twist. I love it! "Cuban Pete" is the reason I bought it, but I was pleasantly surprised because the whole soundtrack is great.
