Tasty!
These Nocellara olives have that characteristic buttery taste, are easy to chew (mind the olive stones!) and have a lovely flavour. They come in a heavy duty, large plastic screw-top jar of which the olives' drained weight is quoted to be '800g'. Fair enough. The olives are in a mix of rapeseed oil and olive oil which added ascorbic acid which naturally preserves the green colour of the olives. They arrived in good time, well packed I was pleased to notice. My husband and I love these Nocellara olives and we think you will, too. Good value.

Can’t understand negative reviews
I’m no chef, but I’ve got an ok pallet and cannot understand how reviewers have said these are nasty tasting because of the rapeseed oil! We found them to be lovely in salads, dropped in pasta in a tomato sauce, having them in a bowl with drinks etc etc. I’ve eaten olives in Italy, Greece, Spain etc and without a doubt having them French in country in the sun with a cold wine or beer will always make them taste better, and we’ve spend 3 times as much for fancy marinated olives in fancy packaging and they taste better by some % but not 3 times better. So our conclusion is if you want a nice plump olive (still has the pips in) that you can mix with feta cheese, or dipping ciabatta into balsamic vinegar blah blah then these are perfect, they are cheap enough to eat on mass, or mix in your own flavoured olive oil and herbs then buy these as this is a bargain. On the 1 weeks consumption you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand this is due to regulation, there is no difference in cracking the lid and scooping out a number of olives and then and as long as the olives are still covered in the same oil and you pop the container in the fridge then these will last much longer than a week. Oil can get protein strings in it, it tastes nasty but you can see it but if kept in the fridge then it’s ok in our view, but I’m not a food scientist. They are not going to go off in a week because you broke seal on the lid.

Were great , but not so good recently
Until recently this was a great product. We've also used the oil in cooking - the distinctive taste of nocellara olives comes through even though it's rapeseed. However our two most recent jars have been seriously contaminated with water. Some of the olives turned out to be soft and tasted a bit off. Have decided to give this brand a miss for a while and explore alternatives.

As I expected
The Olives are exactly as i expected! Not hard not smashed. The teast is delicios and I am very pleased with then! The only thing that I would change in them is to put them in olive oil nothing else!

Do this ⚠️
Take spoon and carefully remove thin layer of rapsed oil from top. And put few spoons of extra virgin oil instead. They will taste 10x better. The rapsed oil make them taste bland. And get Pitter- stone removing tool. They will taste lovely fresh and firm.

Not great..bad
So after buy Lidl premium olives £1.89 150g, fresh milky crunch and super tasty I thought let buy 1.5kg.. actual weight of olives turn out to 800g @£14.99.. not good value. Olives are mushy slightly bitter and old and not milky as they should be. Also loads of stem on the olives poor product. Not what they should .. totally disappointed and would highly recommend you avoid buying from here. I never will again. Waste of time and money. Don’t know what the other reviews are going on about. Gl if you buy them
