Humorous, quality photography, and an easy read.
_Dog was a favorite book of my daughters when they were young. Now with grandkids I enjoy reading again to my loved ones. They learned to follow along and eventually made t h e connection between the written word and spoken word. Plus, I loved listening to their giggles!

Great book.
These books are great. My grandson was gifted the cat book. He liked it so much, I bought the dog book for a friend's baby who is a "dog person". The cat book was my grandson's first favorite book. Love these books!

Son loves it!
Son absolutely loves this book. As soon as we’ve finished reading he’s asks for it to be read again. Bought one for my friends daughter and she absolutely loves it too. Really enjoyable book.

Third book, kids love it, but pull at the moving parts..
Great book, just wish it was harder to pull off the moving pieces.

Hands on, funny and adorable!
I saw this book before I was even pregnant and I knew I had to buy it. When my daughter was born, my mom bought it for her, and now that she's almost a year old, my daughter LOVES the book. We have 2 dogs of our own, so naturally she's already interested in dogs and fluffy things. We encourage her to feel all the different textures (she likes the Old English sheepdog's fur the best), and she is so interested that she'll explore them several times before she allows me to turn the page. She also loves the moving parts and tries pulling the tabs herself. The book has been tossed onto the floor and thrown around more than I would like, and it has stood up very well to the abuse. We have other books by Matthew Van Fleet, but this is my daughter's favorite. I highly recommend it to anyone with a child who loves dogs or touch and feel books.UPDATE: The book has finally started falling apart. My daughter looks at it every day about 20 times a day. She ripped off the head of the dog shaking itself dry, and has now busted the spine. Would I buy it again? YOU BET!

Wonderful Book. Keeps babies engaged.
I bought this book for my 7-month old grandson. Since I taught his dad how to say "puppy" with a similar book when he was 9 months old, I wanted a book with lots of actual pictures of dogs and puppies. This book has that and much more. Several of the pages have pull-tabs to make a tail wag or a leg scratch... or a cute surprise at the end. Other pages have soft ears or sticky tongues to touch, along with lots of textures on tails and backs. The array of breeds presented is wonderful, and the book is surprisingly sturdy. It's a little bigger than I expected, but I like that. It's a good size, just right for little hands to explore. My grandson gets very excited when we bring the book out. He will sit with me for the longest time just looking at each dog and exploring all the different textures and motions on each page. We particularly like getting to meet each dog by name at the end of the book. I would highly recommend this book to parents and grandparents who not only enjoy reading to their children, but also enjoy exploring.

Brilliant, like all Van Fleet's work
We started reading to my daughter when she was 4 months old, and from that time until she was well over a year she didn't like books with cartoon illustrations. She only wanted to look at books with photos of real things. (I suspect the hand-drawn illustrations were just too abstract for her wee brain.) Well, there aren't a lot of baby books with photos, but she loved this one, as well as CAT by Van Fleet. Photos of animals, fun rhyming text, stuff to touch, and things that move. Everything a baby could want.(And by the way, my daughter is now almost 3. This, CAT, and MOO are the only 3 books from her babyhood that she still has on her shelf and STILL enjoys. Find me another book or author that appeals to children from the age of 4 months right through to 3 years, I defy you.)

Amazing, but ....
.... wet dog's head doesn't shake, shake, shake anymore after only 2 months. Shame, it's such a brilliant book and one we want to keep in good condition for our kid to look back on when they're grown up. Still 5 stars though, because it's just such a joy to read. We've subsequently bought it for fiends' kds too.

Cute interactive book
This book is amazing. It's such a fun kids book. My 1 year old destroyed the last one we bought so I had to buy another.

I love, love, love, love, love, love them but I really can't think what else to write to make up the required minimum number if words required to submit this review!
