Changes taste of coffee!
Okay this was a game changer! Bought this due to not wanting to buy more filters on a regular basis and white bleached filters have chemicals and change the taste of coffee. Coffee taste so much better because the oils and flavor in the coffee stays in the coffee when brewed and not in the paper filter. Ditch the paper filters and buy this!!! Easy to clean and the quality of it is nice.!! I think some of the reviews of it feeling cheap may be due that it is thin metal, which is necessary for its purpose! I would not recommend putting it in the dishwasher washer, Just rinsing out the grounds will do just fine!! One caution would be to watch the type of grind and amount of grounds you use as it does not go to the very top like paper filters and grounds can end up in your pot! This MAY NOT happen with ALL coffee makers! I use it in a Bunn coffee maker so it brews faster with more water flow than a standard coffee maker. Overall would recommend!!!

Fantastic filter basket that doesn't stain and lasts a long time
This is the best filter I've ever used for my coffee and I've been drinking coffee for a very long time. I'm tired of paper filters and I've gone through 3 of the gold mesh and plastic filter baskets. I actually bought a second one of these because of my own error in banging it too hard against the side of the trash can and the top rim came loose. No fault on the manufacturer. That was me. This filter basket is rugged, it cleans easily, runs through the dishwasher, comes out with no coffee stains, and has no effect on the flavor of the coffee. If you want the perfect pot of coffee every morning, use this.

So much cleaner than the gold tone basket!
I read many reviews about stainless steel baskets and brands. This one is made with one piece of screen around the outer portion, with a single bottom seam. The bottom screen is neatly attached and looks quite durable. I still use a paper filter with it, as I have done with the gold tone basket. I don’t like the fine powder escaping into the brewed coffee. All in all, it does a great job and eliminates plastic from the brew process.

The Handle
I would give this a 5 rating if not for the handle. Instead of the ends of the handle poking through tiny holes like the handle on a bucket, there are only detents. The handle has a friction fit in the tiny recess. Several times I have accidentally pulled the handle out while emptying the basket or washing it. Other than that it works well and is not difficult to clean.

Why Didn't I Get One Of These Earlier? Now I Know
Have you ever discovered coffee grounds at the bottom of your mug...you are taking that last drink and YECCCHH...a mouthful of grounds...Yep, your coffee filter, for whatever reason, fell down in the basket, and those rascally coffee grounds snuck up and over the filter and jumped right into your pot. It doesn't happen daily, but it does happen. This basket prevents that, and it is easy to use, easy to clean, and not that much more expensive than buying a few stacks of filters. I do not see it failing anytime in the foreseeable future. Cost wise, it may end up being cheaper than filters...time will tell.Loving it so far, and looking forward to years of "ground free" coffee.Edit: 5/21/23Well, I'm disappointed and the review above is just wrong. The first pot of coffee that I made with the new basket was coarse ground...very coarse. That was what the review above referenced. The next couple of pots were made with standard, grocery shelf fare...Maxwell House, Chock Full o Nuts...nothing exotic or problematic, factory ground, presumably for a drip coffee maker. I discovered at the bottom of every pot was a silt-like sludge...kinda gross. I tried a few times, and same thing every time. Examining the basket, there are "tiny" holes in the sides and bottom, far too small for grounds to pass through, but large enough for "coffee dust" (?).The only solution that I see is putting a paper filter INSIDE the stainless basket so as to prevent the finely ground coffee dust from passing through. Doh! That would be the same as just using the paper filter, wouldn't it?No longer recommended, and back to paper filters … yes, I’m growling and hissing a bit.

Hamilton Beach Flex Brew coffee maker
Works great. It filters less than regular coffee filters so there's a little sludginess at the bottom of the cup but no grinds and that's all that really matters. Well worth the nominal investment.

Reusable Basket!
I have a Bunn! I love using the reusable basket. Cutting down on paper products is a new resolution for this year! This does not leave a taste in the coffee!

Does not work well enough for me
The basket is a little smaller, height wise, than the plastic filter I have. I placed my regular amount of coffee (first pic) into the filter and ran as usual. Either the water flows too fast or the filter doesn't allow enough water to pass because it appears to have overflowed and gotten coffee grounds into the pot (second and third pics). The plastic filter does overflow as well but doesn't seem do so as much. So if you like your coffee stronger (i.e. way more grounds) then I suspect you will have more grounds in your pot as a result. With just water, the only place I saw water drip from this filter was on the bottom. Believe for it to work without overflowing one would need to see water flowing from the sides as well. Or maybe the holes are too small every where. However, the water from the faucet was running much faster than I believe the coffee maker delivers so I thought it would work.Guess I'm looking for a reusable filter that has the wire mess like the plastic one but metal holding the mesh as well as wire mess on the bottom of the filter instead of solid plastic. Either that or I need a way to slow down the water flow in coffee makers to accommodate these filters. As for cleaning, it wasn't too bad, just had to be sure to get the grounds around the rim and under the wire "handle" at the top.
