A great learning source for vocabulary
This book is wonderful. In fact the whole series is great. My daughter is 3 and her vocabulary improves with each book. The pictures are amazing and the format makes it easy for kids to follow along. They set up the sentences so when you read you can pause and your child can participate. Like in this one it says “a gorilla family is called a (my daughter then very excitedly fills in “troop” cause that’s what she learned from the book. After a few reads she knows where gorillas live and eat and can tell you all about them. It’s a great book that really is fun and teaches kids in a way that they retain the info.

Excellent early reader about gorillas
Meant for early readers, one who can manage full sentences, this book is full of information and full page photos. This book is part of the I Can Read set. Kindle format is quite good and well formatted for use on my kindle device. Highly recommended for parents of kids who love animal and nature books. I was able to get this for free at time of purchase. It is well worth full price.

enjoyable nonfiction that both the lower-grade students and teachers will find both practical and fun. This series fits the bill
As a children's librarian, I struggle finding readable, enjoyable nonfiction that both the lower-grade students and teachers will find both practical and fun. This series fits the bill.

Needs new title!
Our little one loves wild animals. So I bought her 6 of these. But as soon as we read the title, she was put off. I WISH I WAS A GORILLA? No I don’t! The series needs a better title, just maybe THE LIFE OF A .....BABY LION etc........ something logical for a kid who is literal! Good books but I taped over the title and put another title on them.
