It works for the brake lights on older master cylinders.
It is a presure switch that's attached to willy's master brake cylinder. It fits perfectly.

Absolute Garbage
The terminals on this are very brittle and break right away. One terminal had a loose connection to the wire. I squeezed it to get a good connection and it broke off and fell on the ground. I pinched it with needle nose pliers, not hit it with a sledge hammer. The terminals look brass but they are some kind of cast aluminum or something. Wound up throwing it away without using it. It probably would have leaked anyway based on some other reviews.Save your money.

I don’t usually write reviews but everyone needs to know about this failure. I bought this for my Jeep because of the fact the connections are female. I was driving the Jeep this weekend and when I slammed on the brakes the plastic/rubber insert blew out and left me with no brakes! Someone could have go hurt. When I got back to the garage I noticed the metal holding the plastic insert in place was not very strong. That is why it blew out.In the future, I will only buy brake parts from where I can go to where I bought it from to address failures.

Failed before actually using it on the road.
This switch leaked between the plastic core and the steel case, or maybe between one of the terminals and the plastic core. It dripped a few drops on the floor each night. I checked very carefully to be sure that it wasn't leaking from the threads which I had sealed with LOCKTITE thread sealing compound. The leak was somewhere in the plastic area, so I had to buy another one locally and replace it. Omix-Ada 17238.01 Brake Light Switch
