The rotisserie was easy to use and unlike some other models I have ...
We received this yesterday and made our first rotisserie chicken today. It was by far the moistest rotisserie chicken we have ever eaten. The rotisserie was easy to use and unlike some other models I have seen and watched video reviews on was quiet while on. I sprayed the poultry tower with cooking spray and cooked a 3.9 lb. whole chicken rubbed only with a little Mrs. Dash salt substitute for 115 min. When the timer was done and it shut off I checked the chicken with a thermometer and it was perfect. The skin was crisp and the meat very juicy. The chicken slid right off onto the cutting board without sticking. Next up will be some kabobs.Clean up was a breeze. A damp sponge to wipe down the interior and soapy water to wash the tray and tower and it was done. The rotisserie was well worth the money spent. It is something I will be using often. And it doesn't heat up the kitchen which is a plus during the hot summer months.

Slower than a crockpot! Don't waste your money!
This rotisserie does not deserve one star, it deserves a negative number of stars! I used this rotisserie for the first time tonight to cook a 4.5lb chicken. I had to trim the neck stub in order for the chicken to fit the height of the rotisserie. After two hours, I finally gave up and cut the chicken up and finished cooking it in the microwave (see pictures).I am so disappointed. I’ve had a Regal rotisserie for 18 years and could cook a six pound chicken in 40 minutes. The door wasn’t closing tight anymore and it was taking longer to cook so I decided it was time for a new one. What a mistake! I’m glad I hadn’t thrown it out.I could have roasted the bird in the oven for the time it was taking in the rotisserie.Other issues include a very small grease pan, no way to easily remove the chicken from the tray. I used the hook that came with my old rotisserie but it was difficult because the door doesn’t open at the top enough to reach in to lift the bird. This could be dangerous with the hot grease under the bird. The rotisserie came with skewers and a basket but the manual did not mention those items so you are left guessing how to assemble and use them.My recommendation—Don’t waste your money!UPDATE: I received a response from someone pretending to be from NutriChef but the phone number belongs to a company, Pyle Audio in NYC. I see that others got a response asking the to email someone at Pyle Audio. These messages are NOT from NutriChef so contact at your own risk. If you want to contact NutriChef, go to their website for a number. I am including the suspicious responses here. This was the message I got--"Hello first let me apologize for any frustration you experienced due to our product, I am very familiar with our NutriChef PKRT16BK Vertical Countertop Rotisserie and I assure you, I will troubleshoot and solve your issue or get you a new working replacement right away. Please email me directly at [email protected] or call 718-535-1800 extension 344".Other messages to other buyers--"I work for NutriChef, I would love to troubleshoot and solve your issue or get you a working unit? Please email me directly at [email protected]".Further update: even after my warning about the scam comments, I got a comment from someone offering to troubleshoot for me saying he was from Nutrichef but at a gmail account. Really??? Nutrichef has their own website, they don't use gmail. Are these scam responses automated? why do they keep popping up? If you have a problem with your rotisserie, just return it to amazon, don't be sucked into giving your information to a scammer.

Excellent purchase
The media could not be loaded. I have wanted a vertical rotisserie for awhile now when I saw this one, read the reviews, watched the videos, and decided to make the purchase. I’ve used it twice in the week since I’ve received it and have been very satisfied with the results both times. It could be a little easier to clean, but I worry that would come at the cost of the quality of the machine. I love it. Super happy I bought it.

Bottom of chicken still raw after cooking.
This thing has one main issue. The top of the cooker get way hotter than the bottom. To cook a thawed chicken, I put the timer on 90 minutes. When it was done, the chicken was cooked perfectly at the top, but when cutting into the bottom part, it was still raw. I didn't see anywhere that the chicken has to be flipped, but I'm going to have to start doing it to get the whole chicken cooked.
