I got this set to replace the pieces for a crystal set I got some time ago as the pieces that came with that set where about half the size and very fragile and several of the pieces broke very easily. These pieces are nice and sturdy and go great with my board.

I ordered these for an old marble chess board that originally had Aztec pieces that I never really cared for and were eventually lost during a move. These Staunton style pieces with coral color are almost a perfect match for the old board and are beautiful too! I did end up making felt pads to replace the foam ones supplied but I knew about that going in. I like the feel of the felt... a personal preference.Shipping was fast and customer service was very quick to answer my questions and I'm very pleased with the purchase.

This chess set is the most beautiful set I have had. As a chess player for over 60 years, and growing up in a chess playing family with wooden chess pieces, I have never been able to enjoy such an elegant set. I use it not only as a classy decorative set on my mantle, I play with this set only with my family. This is a great set. Good quality and great weight. Good craftsmanship. The only improvement I would recommend is add a case to store them in.
