Love the product hate the color
I have another one of these Fiskars softgrip craft knives, but it is purple. I was looking for the same model but guess they no longer make it in that color. I love Fiskar products but hate the orange color. I wish they would change this up because it just doesn't go with anything and you don't want to leave the items out on a desk. Scissors, knives, etc. I think they need to offer a more decorator friendly color.Great knife otherwise. The grip is perfect and easy on your hands. The top cap is also nice and clicks on.

It is the only safe product of its kind
Every other craft knife has a massive design flaw: they’re round and can roll away and get lost, which is dangerous and inconvenient. Not with Fiskars! This knife’s shape and grippy material is not only comfy, it keeps your blade safely where you put it.The bright orange color helps with avoiding the hazard of lost sharps. They used to make a beautiful bright light blue color that I wish they’d make again. And I wish they’d make the caps brightly colored, as I’ve lost some, replaced with a wine cork. Since then I paint the lids bright colors, though it eventually cracks off and I repaint.I literally give these as gifts to every artist/crafter I know. They’re a game changer.

A welcome change to the standard shape, one issue.
Very nice little knife, a welcome change to the standard cylinder shapes. It’s comfortable to use and grip in a variety of positions. Very comfy to use. The blade locks up solid and there’s no movement when locked in.So for the issue, locking the blade in. As I saw another reviewer posted, it can be tricky. Now the blade locks in by turning the knurled knob at the bottom. If it is loose enough to replace a blade, then the whole inner cylinder spins from the knob to the blade clamp. Now you can just twist it, hold the orange part of the handle, and it will start to clamp on the blade, but it starts to turn as you clamp down hard. So when it’s locked in it’s final tight position, the blade is off to the left. Which on a regular round handle wouldn’t be an issue, but on this one it is.So what’s the fix? Hold on to the blade to keep it centered….. which is a terrible idea. I messed around with it for a little bit and it was aggravating getting it straight. So I tried holding the blade with pliers, and that worked, but I don’t want to snap the blade or have to use pliers every time I want to change a blade. I found the easiest way was to rest the flat of the blade on a table, hold the orange handle and twist with my other hand. Worked well and no chance of injury. See photos for example. So overall 4 stars. After sussing that out I’m very happy with it. That part could have been designed better, but it would probably end up being more expensive haha. It’s very comfy to use and won’t roll away as you’re using it.

Easy to use for my getting-old fingers.
These knives, often called X-Acto knives (which is another brand but a commonly used name) are pretty much all the same. Except, when you can find one that has a grip like this that is easier on your hand. This one is a breeze to use and is much more comfortable than anything else out there. I won't use anything else now that I have found this.

Great, but If you intend to use it to carve wood....
....then don't bother. I did and it didn't last more than 20 minutes, the alumin(i)um threads inside couldn't take it. I'm still giving it five stars because if used for its intended purpose (cutting paper and such) this is a good tool, well designed, the orange rubber grip is great, it prevents it from rolling off the table and from turning in your hand, makes it much better than just having a regular round handle. Once it was finished I actually took the rubber grip off of it, drilled the opening in it slightly bigger and now I'm using it on a regular exacto knife that can take the abuse. To me it was worth the price just for the rubber grip.

BEST KNIFE EVER
This is the best craft/razor knife out there. I’ve owned several over the years. Not because any of them have ceased to function, but I have one for my backpack, one for my desk at work, and one for my home desk.(I am a graphic designer...)I like that it uses the thinner #11 blade than the standard X-Acto #2—and the ergonomic grip makes it easier to control around tight corners and whatnot. This is a great fine-tuned stuff knife. You might want a heavier blade for matte/foam core cutting and stuff like that.

A handy thing to have
Its bright color makes it easy to locate on a cluttered work table. Not sure it cuts deeper or easier than the old aluminum blade holders but it is easier to hold, won't twist.
