Q: Couple of reviews say it's low noise. But how would you describe the noise? Eg, is it whinney or mellow? Need a fan for my bedroom you see.

I use mine in the bedroom. I would say it is mellow. I am a light sleeper and have the fan on all night. No problem with noise

Hi there, answering your query, yes this fan can stay in one position, you can also tilt it up or down to how you like it. I love these pedestal fans cos you can position them how you like, as opposed to ceiling fans that just go round where you can't get any relief or cooler air, i much prefer these fans as you get much more freedom to move around. Q: Please can you tell me does this fan use an lot of electricity?

The fan is very light in weight and although I can't confirm the power usage, our electricity bills did not go up significantly during last year's summer, so I think it is a fair assumption that it is not power hungry.
