So just a heads up this vanilla is an oleoresin which isn’t quite the same as an essential oil. I wasn’t quite aware of that when it came so I was worried it had gone bad when I opened it and there was brown goop on the top. The smell was slightly off too. But I mixed it with a little coconut oil and it smells just divine. So for anyone using this for soaps or what not this is brown like the extract and goopy. So may not mix well for all purposes. But for mine which is to make a natural oil based perfume works great.

I got this to use in my own beauty concoctions since other review said they used this product and it worked for them. I was a bit put off at first because it is very dark colored and smelled a bit acrid at first but after it had a second to "air out" for lack of a better term, it smells quite nice. It does not smell like other essential oils I have smelled before, its pretty much exactly like cooking vanilla which I don't think is a bad thing. The price is more than reasonable since a bottle of the same size at my local natural grocers was $27! Be careful this will stain your skin and probably your clothes (I didn't test it) but it washes off (of skin) with some scrubbing. The scent, which I tested by dabbing on my wrist,does last a very long time without losing potency. Its very nice,strong enough without being over powering. I keep getting pleasant whiffs of it whenever I move my hand. As far as the company Edens Garden, I cant praise them highly enough! This is my first purchase from them but I am already planning to buy all kinds of stuff from them. They shipped my order within 4 hours of me ordering it! Got here very quickly. Product was intact and well sealed. They included this great catalog/pamphlet with all kinds of very useful info about their products. I only took a star off because it is dark colored and doesn't have the stronger more perfume vanilla smell that other oils I have smelled had. You probably could just buy vanilla from Safeway and get the same effect. Even so I would definitely recommend this product because of the price and the company.

Its perfect. Smells exactly like vanilla from the bottle in my kitchen. Goes well in my dryer ball and in my perfume! Its also the non toxic version of vanilla. I will be buying again when it runs out! They also sent me a small free sample of another product:)

After reading wonderful things about this company, I was excited to make my first purchase. Perhaps if I'd made a different selection, I'd be leaving a glowing review. So understand this review is NOT about the co but just their Vanilla- Oleoresin Essential Oil. When I unscrewed the cap I smelled what can only be described as a strong bourbon/alcohol. But sometimes oils just need to breathe. I shook the bottle. Then shook about 10 drops into my water diffuser. I was surprised by how watery the consistency was and how quickly it permeated the water in the diffuser. This was supposed to be an OIL. I then turned the diffuser on, left the room and came back about an hour later. I could smell absolutely NOTHING. Perhaps I lack the necessary olfactory DNA of the positive reviewers? So plz be warned. If, like me, you're accustomed to using Vanilla CO2 which is amazing, smells like real vanilla, is strong, but has become more expensive to buy than a pair of Elon Musk's underwear, I'd give this puppy a pass.

I am pleased with the purity and the fragrance. It is a concentrated essential oil. Vanilla is not a strong aroma when diluted at all. But, this bottle of essential oil of vanilla is very pure and concentrated, so it smells strong almost like Bourbon when opened and sniffed straight out of its bottle. But, it is supposed to be diluted into a a carrier oil or other base. It is great for the price too. I like the purity aspect. It will be great to include in my home made, aroma-therapy based oils and perfume-salves. I recommend it.

The smell was good, but it was super crusted. At first nothing would come out. Once I removed as much crust as I could, only 5 drops came out before it became clogged again. Don't know how long it was in storage but I'm hesitant to buy from Eden's Garden again. I need a reliable essential oil retailer but I don't feel like I can count on them :(

Vanilla is my favourite scent when it comes to essential oils, perfumes, beauty products air freshners - Basically everything - So I was very disappointed when I used this in my essential oil diffuser and could barely smell anything - This has happened every time I.ve tried diffusing just this oil alone - There is basically no scent so I do not recommend.

I'm not a connoisseur of fragrances, so maybe my nose just isn't tuned for essential oils, but this little bottle of vanilla oil has no scent at all for me! And, a second issue is that the plastic insert dispenser top is SO TINY you have to practically bang the bottle on a hard surface just to get a single teeny drop out of the bottle! All in all, not worth the price, for me.

This smells like baking. Whenever I diffuse it, I always get asked what I'm making followed by it smells SO good. I love the smell but do think it's a bit pricey.
