Fashion illustration: Outfit of the Day (Pie Creators' File)

I would like to preface this review with an admittedly minor detail- the cover art you see on the product page is actually a dust jacket (on a paperback book). The actual covers are a black halftone version of the cover art over neon yellow. In addition, the yellow bar on the front of the dust jacket art is actually a sticker that covers part of the front, the spine section, and a part of the back of the dust jacket. The sticker itself is a mildly amusing 'label' saying that you should not wash the book despite it featuring 'real clothes illustration'. Nonetheless, I decided to remove the sticker, as I am not a fan of any sort of 'feature' that could have just been printed straight onto the cover. Anyone else that may wish to remove the sticker should also be made aware that a fair amount of 'sticky' will be left behind, so be sure to have an adhesive remover of some sort to hand. This does not affect my review of the book itself, as it is a *very* personal preference with no bearing on the quality therein....Onto the book itself! Contained within are the works of forty Japanese fashion illustrators. Each artist gets four pages with which to display their talents and all use that space well. Some opt for double-page spreads whilst others section single pages into mini-galleries. This variety of display keeps the book as a whole incredibly interesting throughout.Of particular note- how some of the artists are featured on completely different paper stocks that truly suit their individual styles and aesthetics. This lack of uniformity serves to only enhance the experience of perusing the art throughout. Even the most 'cartoony' of the fashion illustrators opt to depict their figures and clothes with incredible attention to detail. This makes for a refreshing change of pace compared to their Western counterparts, who would likely take a painterly, almost abstracted approach to such work.In keeping with the modernity of the work, you yourself have the opportunity to delve further into each artist's work (and even get in touch with them) with Instagram handles, websites, and email addresses subtly emblazoned on their respective spreads. With these additions, and the cutting-edge fashions depicted herein, 'Outfit Of The Day' will be both a book of its time, and a timeless classic in the years to come....

This is great because not only does it have beautiful artwork it also credits every artist that is in the book. I bought it to help with outfits and poses to draw. Amazing overall!

Gorgeous book with a different mix of styles by different Illustrators.

I absolutely love this fashion magazine. It is printed on excellent paper. Cool modern street fashion illustrations are organized in a harmonious sequence. A great gift for girls who in the future dreams of becoming a fashion designer!

I'm so inspired by this book, all the artworks are bright and colourful and there is link and QR code to every single artist, perfect art book for anybody interested in fashion, anime or just regular person interested in art as a hobby, highly recommend

Un excelente artbook. No solo cuenta con un buen número de ilustraciones, también muchos artistas, y la facilidad de acceder a sus redes con solo usar el código QR. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

The book is filled to the brim with art.Is stylish, the pages even have a different finish to showcase the artist (pastel artists get matte pages and coloful artists got glossy ones).If the cover got you intrigued, you are going to love it.Update: Seller is also great. They took way too long with the first one and I was afraid it was lost. They make sure I got a new copy super fast

Mostly Japanese (95%) with a little bit of English (5%). This book is super cool. Love all the artists styles and that all their socials are included.
