PetSafe Drinkwell Seascape Ceramic Pet Fountain, 70 oz, Gray

This horrendously overpriced cat fountain simply works for my cat. And that is basically all I cared about.The good: passed my cat’s test, it is super quiet, ceramic instead of problematic plastic or stainless steel, easy to clean, should last (I hope it does)The not so good: super overpriced (no good reason for this high price tag), little variety in terms of color, no clear information on where to get spare parts in case some elements break or stop workingWould I buy it again - not for this price.

I was very excited to get this fountain for my cats. Unfortunately it only lasted a year before the motor of the pump seized- and no- I did not run it while dry. While it was working I found it messy because the charcoal filters are constantly leaking charcoal into the water which my pets don’t like. I found cleaning quite tricky, and my pets didn’t love it. Generally I just didn’t find it worth the hassle. For years I owned one of those simple plastic fountains and it worked flawlessly for years and was much more straightforward to clean and did not leave charcoal everywhere.

First of all, this is a decent fountain and certainly the most QUIET on the market. I’ve owned a lot of different PetSafe models and I will only by PetSafe due to their amazing customer service.Secondly, this is a SLIMY fountain. It needs cleaning weekly as one of the other reviewers said. The calcium build up along with pet hair and slime are horrible.Thirdly, I’m disappointed with the filters. In other PetSafe models the filters are great because the carbon inside continually clean the water with the vibration and movement, however; maybe this one is too still but the filters will clog and make the water flow non-existent or very slow. The fix is taking the filter out and shaking it up to break the carbon molecules apart. Annoying.. but not the end of the world. If they could fix this one problem, then it would be hands down a 5-star product.

Cat loves it. He drinks more water. Its easy to set up and to dissasemble for cleaning. It does not make any water sounds, its quiet so no annoying water trinkling. Also the motor is very quiet. I am happy with the purchase.Only thing, be careful when you clean it, since its mase out of ceramic it could break. But ceramic is a great alternative to plastic, if your cat or dog has allergies due to plastic. My cat had cat acne, little black dots and his lips would get rodent ulcers. Turns out it was caused by plastic. So this product is perfect for my cat.

This fountain is whisper quiet. No running water noises. The water stays nice and cold for my kitty and it's a genuinely pretty fountain. it looks like a decorative water feature rather than a useful cat fountain. Can't recommend enough! Have to take it apart to clean, but that's standard for cat fountains
