Astoundingly informative and spiritually revitalizing!!!
I have only made it through the acknowledgements, foreword and introduction and my excitement is beyond measure! This literature feels like a great starting point for the novice african/black history student as Walker references his influences positive and negative as well as other pioneering authors and scholars whom have gifted the black community/the world with valuable content. Any self proclaimed veterans of African history were forewarned by Walker about reiteration of material as well as for who the scope of this work was designed in the first 15 pgs. To reduce the value of this literature by negating stars based on “the repetitive nature” of the book or its novice perspective is highly disingenuous and in my opinion should be discarded. Thank you to the creators for giving me more reason to hold my head high!

A necessary history lesson!
Books like these are important to have in our home libraries. The information is useful for teaching generations of families...unlike that stuff they teach in the public school system. I recommend getting the study guide also.

Mind Blown!
This book belongs on the shelf of every single person of African descent (or anyone who loves history)! We're using it to educate ourselves & reclaim the history that we've been lied to all these years through Eurocentric education. Also this book is a MUST HAVE for educating Black children, it is important for their growing minds to see the greatness & power in their ancestry...so they can believe it in themselves!
