Well, ok, I bought it for our dogs AND my husband. It goes like this. My husband is a big guy. He’s 6’2” and 325 lbs. I’m not tiny myself; 5’6” and 200 lbs of sturdy farm girl. My guns have guns. He’s used to a waterbed, I’m used to getting bounced off a waterbed.We also have to dogs; half Border Collie, half Great Pyrenees litter mates. So cute. So fluffy. So obnoxious. Why would you cross the smartest dog in the world with the stubbornest dog in the world? Anyway. Now we live with huge, hairy ‘teen agers’ for the next 15 years.And they kindly allow us to share sleeping space with them. Don’t give me any of that BS about how bad it is to let your dogs sleep with you, and don’t judge me. It ain’t gunna change.It’s time to get a new bed situation. We are entitled enough that our bedroom is pretty big. I think it used to be a garage. For seriously. After much extensive and thorough research, a Consumer’s Report subscription, battling two big dogs for space and blankets, and watching them loll about on their backs without a care in the world for our needs, I decided to go for a bigger than cali king bed. As we canNOT afford an Alaska King, or all the sheets n stuff to go on it, I settled on two of these queens.Saved and saved, and finally got the first one. The second one will follow when I’ve saved for it.So I rotated the head and footboards, (yes, I realize a King won’t fit a Queen. Or two queens. Shoosh. I have a plan.), moved the drawers, and pulled the trigger on ordering the first set. For him, uh, I mean the dogs. The firm version with the extra coils along the sides. And the vibrating adjustable frame.It arrived ahead of schedule. Yay! Then the delivery driver tried to cajole me into letting them do the install. For a mere $450. Boo! Uh, no. I know I look like a disheveled old lady, because I am, but I can assemble a bed frame. Even a fancy one. I didn’t let his talk of fancy computer connections skur me. T’ain’t nuthin I haven’t done before.Also, I saw HIS price on his phone for this set up; $1449! How do I get that offer on the next one?Guys, this thing is heavy AF!!! Like, VW Bug heavy! I had to wait for the hubs to help move it the half mile through the house to the bed room. (Also looks like garages, strung together. Has that uh, ‘industrial’ look…) but once there, it was super easy! Screw the legs on, find the plug, and (get help) flip it over! Plop the mattress on top, sheet it, and go!First, I love it. He loves it. The dogs love it. The cat loves it! It’s neat. It has a remote! And lights under it! The head goes up. The feet too! And it all vibrates. Everyone but me is out in minutes. (Because I have ADHD, so, things n stuffs.)But there are cons. Besides the delivery guy. Ha!It isn’t as motion transference free as advertised. And while it doesn’t have a big divot in it, (yet?) when he lays down every me, dog, and cat gets slightly bounced, and rolls into his gravity well. But as mentioned I plan to get a second one for me. And whatever dog I can coax away from the beast master. I’ll keep you updated…

The mattress and base were delivered quickly and efficiently as two items. The base was easy to put together and there were several leg heights to make the overall bed height just what we wanted. Everything worked better than expected! Very pleased with functionality. The medium firm mattress is perfect, being thicker than a normal queen, but a wee bit smaller so the sheets will fit A-OK. To make things even better, I was able to find a responsible and inexpensive mattress recycler in Denver for disposing of my old mattresses. The only reason I am not giving my new mattress 5 stars is for the out-gassing of the VOC's from flame retardants from the mattress. Could be also foam and glue out-gassing, I suppose. And I realize some mattresses are more "smelly" than others when new. Ours took about a week for the smell to totally subside and it helped to throw back blankets and sheets every day to allow more smell to escape.

We tried to return the mattress after a few weeks and were told we had to wait till we hit 60 days. Then we missed the window on the return and have been using it for a year. The bed frame works great, but the mattress really hurts my back. Would not recommend the mattress. If you can get just the frame and find a better mattress I would go that way.

This bed is everything I hoped for and more. I have never spent this much on a bed before but with chronic pain, I had to get the best. I definitely got the best value for my money. Before I was sleeping on a 10-20yr old mattress. That and fibromyalgia left me cropping out of bed in the morning. Not with this gem! It hurts NONE of my pressure points which I thought impossible. It relieves my snoring with the snore position and when it gets really bad, I turn on the massage. Let me tell you, best feeling ever! Some balm and the massage setting is all I need to feel better. The different settings of massage are great too. The zero gravity helps my back and I am overjoyed. The only downside was that it took a long time to get here. Nearly a month and the shipping company used is overburdened with orders. They were super helpful for all the times that I called. Thank you Ideal bed for making the ideal bed for me. Btw this is an almost three month review.

I am beyond disappointed and fed up with this company.I ordered the iDealBed iQ5 Luxury Hybrid Mattress and Adjustable Bed Sleep System, and it's been a headache ever since... money wasted!The would-be adjustable frame never fully worked, starting right out of the box! All it did and does is provide a massage feature but zero adjusting functionality (which was the entire purpose of buying the adjustable frame). It gets better, so after numerous days of taking off work, I set up appointments with iDeal beds. Whichever company they outsource near me for the frame to be "fixed," well over a year later and many failed attempts of the same issues (my listening to the repair guys go through the same motions with tech support literally every time), nothing worked to fix the adjustable frame. So iDeal bed sent out a replacement motor; they say it was the issue, yet only the massage feature works!After going around and around with them, I asked why can't a new working frame be sent to me and the none working one taking back?! No brainer, right? Wrong!They (multiple call reps) said they would not do that because it's a simple solution and the frame only has X amount of parts that could be the issue (It's not covered under any version of the two warranties I have on the mattress and frame I call myself protecting my purchase).So, in summary, I wasted over half of $1,906.94. Never again-- Also the mattress itself may be a medium soft and not firm...because it has been giving me back problems for the past 6 months now.
