Vampirina Ballerina Hosts a Sleepover-Vampirina Ballerina Hardcover – Picture Book, July 23, 2013

Our girls loved the other two Vampirina Ballerina books and this one lived up to the lofty standards already set. It follows the existing formula, the dry text has a sober list of recommendations looking to host a sleepover while the fanciful art shows a family of vampires, mummies and monsters getting ready to host a group of little girls. Despite the monster theme the cute art ensures that our girls are never scared.Our young girls especially love the ballet references and artist LeUyen Pham does a great job of showing off graceful and fun dancing. As with the other books there's a four page gatefold of Vampirina and her friend dancing throughout the house.It looks like Disney is making a more cartoony version of this series which I think we'll skip. The books have a unique charm that I think would be lost in a more mundane presentation. I do hope we get more from Pace and Pham.

I love Vamperina Ballerina. Who wouldn't? She's got an unusual passion for a vampire -- being a ballerina and getting to hang out with "normal" friends. It's a wonderful journey that shows that regardless how different you and your family may be, if there's love and support, anything is possible. As a parent, who can't relate to the exhaustion that the family feels when their daughter's first sleepover is finished -- time to collapse and sleep!Anne Marie Pace's writing and LeUyen Pham's beautiful illustrations go together like a beautifully orchestrated symphony -- like Vamperina and her new friends, it's a beautiful thing to watch.

I can understand why Vampirina would go to great lengths to make her "normal girl" friend feel at home, and that her family would loyally help her try to entertain her friends as Vampirina thought she should. But *true* friends will appreciate you for who you really are. <grin>

Vampirina Ballerina Hosts a Sleepover is an adorable, whimsical book - and not just for girls as my boys (6 & 7 years old) would attest! I highly recommend it. A sweet story about Vampirina preparing for and hosting a sleepover for her non-vampire friends with fun illustrations!!I also recommend the 'prequel' to this book 'Vampirina Ballerina' which follows Vampirina's journey to ballerina-dom as she gains self-confidence and makes new friends (occassionally turning into a bat when she makes a mistake or gets nervous :-))!

I just got the book today and it's beautiful! I love that it's a hardcover. The illustrations are super cute. There's no more than one sentence per page, which is nice for newer readers.

If you love the hit tv show, Vampirina, you (and your kiddos!) will LOVE Vampirina Ballerina EVEN MORE!

My girls love Vamperina Ballerina so seeing this was coming out was a guarantee purchase. We love the artwork of Leuyen Pham and all the books she does and this does not disappoint.

Sweet little book! Arrived in great condition and was a perfect Halloween gift gor my niece!
