My bedroom has a large window that faces east, and that means that in the morning, the room is often flooded with light. And when I'm awake that's great, but if I want to sleep in, it's impossible. Rather than invest in blackout shades for this big window, I chose to go with sleep masks. I have been using a thin terry type in summer, and a thicker cotton type in winter. However, neither of those is for sale now.This seems to be an eye mask that will work for either season. Because it is lightweight, it is not too hot in summer; my thick cotton masks made me perspire during the summer months, and this does not. It also offers better black-out protection than my thinner terry masks. The only problem for me, and it's a small one, is that it seems to be made for a larger face than mine. Either the nose insert goes part way down my nose, or the rest of the mask feels as if it is riding unusually high; but it's not a major problem.For most sleep mask users, this mask should suit your needs.I have not yet tried to wash it. The thick cotton mask and the thin terry masks, of which I still own a couple, could be popped into a lingerie bag and go into the wash, then hang to dry. I am afraid that may not work with this one, but I don't know for certain. It will have to get really rank before I decide to try it--thus far not an issue--because it cost the same as a thick cotton mask and a thin terry mask together. One mask for the price of two.My heavy cotton sleep mask had a bulky clasp that made it impossible to sleep on my back. I am usually a side sleeper and so most nights this wasn't a problem, but if I had serious back issues and needed to lie flat, it was an obstacle. This mask, in contrast, has a really smooth back no matter what size I adjust it to; it lies completely flat in back and so I can sleep on my back while wearing it if I want to.The fifth star is denied only because of cost and the lingering question of what will happen when I need to wash it.

I have very dry eyes and my ophthalmologist recommended a sleep mask so my eyes wouldn't flutter open, rub against the pillowcase and cause abrasion and more dryness while I sleep. I have been using a sleep make for over a month now and it really makes a difference. My eyes are not dry when I wake up. The mask does allow for eye movement but it protects the sensitive eye area and the eyes against abrasive materials. Even the softest sheets and pillowcases can cause abrasion. I actually sleep better now. I hadn't realized that light does penetrate when one's eyes are closed. Using a good sleep mask is an effective way to block out light, especially when you can’t control the source, such as when traveling. And a specially-designed relaxation eye mask can relieve pressure and tiredness after a long day.I’ve tried and tested a range of eye masks over the last few months, both while trying to sleep and also for relaxation. I find the Purefly Natural Silk Eye Mask to be the best. These masks are made of 100% natural mulberry silk. The feel of silk over my eye area is delightful...so soft. The mask fits very well, not too tight. The straps are adjustable and stretchable. The sizable surface of the mask blocks out all light. I have shopped far and wide for a good sleep mask. This one fits my two most basic criteria:1. It is large enough to fit my fat head.2. I cannot feel the clasps when sleeping on my back or my side.I have tried too many sleep masks that were either so tight that they cut off my circulation or the clasps (usually velcro) created a bulge that was an annoyance under my head. This mask has neither of those problems. I have a relatively large head and the straps are easily adjustable to fit, with plenty of room to go larger if necessary. Most of all, the adjustable mechanisms are very small and do not press against my head when sleeping on both my back and my side.After trying this mask for a few nights I went ahead and ordered four more. They are very comfortable, affordable, and do their job very well.

The mask has adjustable straps that you can move to fit your head shape/size. It is silky on both sides, so there is no right or wrong way to wear the mask. The only complaint that I have about this product is that after wearing it for almost a month, it folds in half when placed on my head. I've adjusted the size of the straps, but it has to be pulled down past the bridge of my nose for it not to fold in half. However, if I were to need another sleep mask, I would buy this again because it works at blocking out the light, has the adjustable straps and is silky soft on my face.

Decent sleep mask and performs as advertised. The fabric is soft and smooth and will might you needs. The one area where there is room for improvement is the strap. I have sleep mask that has two bands to hold it secure to one's face. The two-band design is preferable as it holds the mask more securely, and keeps the edges of the mask held against your face (and thus lets less light in). Overall a good mask that works as advertised.I received a discount on this item in return for leaving my unbiased feedback. Nice comfortable material. I use it on plane three four times a week and the only shortcoming I found was the attachment of the strap to the front piece. The strap's with is fine, but it should get wider where it attaches to the front. When wearing it (no,it isn't too tight if you think that is the problem) the strap pulls on side of front at one small area rather then on the full sides of eye piece, therefore the top and bottom part of eye piece moves away from face a bit. I have other eye shades and their straps have wider attachments to the front pulling the full shade to face

It applies pressure on your eye balls - dont like that. I have another mask that i bought elsewhere that doesnt do that.

I used this on a long flight, and I personally loved it. I slept peacefully. Bright lights do pass through this though, but it’s good enough for the flights. It is very soft and easy on the eyes. Not too tight for me, but I do have a smaller head. 😐I wash it with my shower gel. I wouldn’t recommend using any hard detergents on this one if you want to keep the texture or quality.
