very convicting
A little hard to get into (I prefer fiction; was reading for church), but interesting. He is much braver than I, and it is convicting that I am not fulfilling the great commission. Are you?Are you a sinner? Even ‘minor’ sins? There is payment for that in Jesus Christ.

The great commission
We are currently reading this book I’m my Bible study. This book is exactly what we need to step out of our comfort zone and preach the gospel. It truly makes you think and analyze are you truly saved. Love this book and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

An Eye-opening Game Changer. A Must Read
Ray boils evangelism down to the basic premise that an unsaved person must feel he is guilty of breaking the moral laws of God, the Ten Commandments, before he will see the need to seek forgiveness. The best method of evangelism I have found after much research on the topic.

A Christian Witnessing Handbook
If you are someone that has wanted to share your faith in Christ but you've never been sure of how to go about it then this book is for you. I've followed Ray Comfort and his ministry "Living Waters" for years and have watched hundreds of hours of his videos and sermons so the "formula" is one that I know about and have used in the past. This book is for those who WANT to witness to friends, neighbors, strangers anyone but don't really understand what it means to do so. Ray walks you through the process, which is very simple to learn, and also gives you step-by-step instructions on what to do as the encounter unfolds. Using actual examples of witnessing encounters and his ever-present humor, he demonstrates that while witnessing can be a stressful event, it's not something we should fear. We should however, recognize that this is first and foremost warfare and there are enemies out there that we must do battle with. In fact, Ray admits that even after all of these years of doing this, he still feels fear every time he approaches someone but he has learned how to engage in battle regardless. However, Ray also helps us to realize what is at stake here: souls. Millions of people on this planet die every day and the reality is MOST of them will go to hell. As Jesus said, the harvest is indeed plentiful but the workers are few. WE MUST STEP UP! Ray explains what a true and what a false conversion is and how dangerous it can be for someone who THINKS they are saved but is not. More and more, in this day and age, we are seeing that exact thing happen in the church. The last thing that Jesus said before He left this planet was "go into all the world and preach the good news (The Gospel) to everyone." That was not a suggestion, it was and is a command. The early church knew exactly what He meant and they immediately turned their attention to do exactly that. Now more than ever, the followers of Christ need to be busy gathering souls and preaching the good news! We all recognize that time is running out and we are closer to His coming now than we were yesterday. Jesus has paid a high price for us to be forgiven and reconciled to God. Many don't know that our debt has been paid and that we can be forgiven. As the Apostle Paul said: "how will they know unless someone tells them?" We need to tell them. We need to be heartbroken for the lost and we need to "pull them out of the fire." This is serious business and needs to be approached as such.I've heard the excuses and Ray mentions many that he's heard as well in this book. However, the title says is all. We need to stop making excuses and learn how to do this. THEN, WE NEED TO GO DO IT! Ray will show you that there is more than one way to go about this and using your own creativity, you can use this formula with great success. This should be required reading for everyone in the church. This is how we advance His kingdom. This is how we win souls. This is how we take back ground that has been seized by the enemy. This is how we announce to the world, the Good News!

Excellent tips from a master evangelist.
Evangelism doesn't seem to come easy for most of the believers I know. Perhaps that's a Western problem, I'm not sure. If I were to ask you, "How have you been growing in evangelism?", you might get a little uncomfortable. I know I would. For much of my Christian life, it has been difficult to share the gospel with strangers and unbelievers I don't have a strong relationship with. The temptation is to think, "People who me know I'm a Christian, and they'll see my life and wonder what makes such a difference". This may be true in a tiny percent of cases, but most people never just randomly ask me to share the gospel with them. Part of the reason for this passivity is fear. Part of it is unpreparedness. Ultimately, my flesh is crying out, "Anyone but me!".Have you ever felt that way? If you have, you're not alone. Ray Comfort, a well-known evangelist and Bible teacher, recently published a new book titled Anyone But Me*. This is a book for people like us—people who struggle to with fear or feel unprepared to share the gospel. Filled with personal examples and anecdotes, Comfort walks us through 10 ways to overcome our fear and grow in our confidence to share the gospel:Love in the face of hatredObedienceDecisive Love for the lost that leads to evanglismDefiance toward our spiritual enemiesFocus on the crossPreparation for the evil dayTruthfulness in our messagePracticing how we will preach the WordFaithfulness Above AllPrayerIn each of these 10 points, Ray paints vivid pictures and gives a biblical foundation for sharing the gospel. He is a man whose heart is moved with compassion when he encounters unbelievers. He doesn't let his convictions end with simply feeling sorry for them. Rather, he gives them the only news that is powerful enough to change their hearts. He is a man who practices what he preaches.I'll leave with this quote, which sums up much of what is shared throughout this book:"If you become addicted to winning souls, you are being wise with your time. The world is filled with brilliant people who are spending their precious lives doing great things that only matter in this life." (p. 166).I don't know about you, but I want to be addicted to the Great Commission. Perhaps this book can be a catalyst for reaching the lost and making disciples of all nations.*I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to leave a positive review.

A Call to Christians to share the gospel
I've seen Ray Comfort a few times on Revelation TV. He is an American Evangelist who goes out to public places and interviews people, asking them direct and searching questions about the meaning and purpose of life. He actively promotes the gospel and this book tells of his approach to this work and calls on all Christians to do the same. However while I admire Ray , regrettably I am only able to rate this book at 3, because I have misgivings about all Christians becoming engaged in evangelism. Not everyone would feel comfortable to do so. I hope that God won't hold it against us, if we don't actively preach - although some scriptures quoted appear in the book appear to suggest He will.I certainly never deny my faith and defend it wherever I can, but could not preach it, and here in the UK it would be dangerous and asking for trouble in certain areas to challenge people openly in the street on such matters. And I am not sure that it would really be good manners to go up to strangers and preach our faith to them individually - I wouldn't be able to do this myself and I wouldn't like it if someone of another faith did that to me. (Although if the person does consent then I suppose it might not be unreasonable)My other disappointment with the book is that I have some theological concerns over some aspects of Ray's preaching, this might be because I am not a very good Christian. I find that some Christians make the path to the Kingdom of God impossible. Take "Pilgrims Progress" for instance, which Ray quotes in this book, that is a book which claims that to reach the Kingdom of God a Christian must be perfect and without sin. (It lists sins that we might not even think of as sins, such as owning a house or having possessions). Obviously if this is right then no one will ever be able to reach the Kingdom of God - because no one, not even the most devout Christian, is without sin. And I wonder if Ray's message is likewise a bit confused, saying on the one hand that we are all sinners but that Christians must not sin.Despite these caveats the book would be useful for those who feel comfortable evangelizing. Finally if Ray reads these reviews, I just thought I'd mention that I'd have liked a little more advice on how to deal with people like Frank. I have a pen friend who is scathing about my belief in creation and scorns the Bible - although I don't think he is a bad person it can be upsetting at times - . How should Christians deal with such people?

We must decide to spread the gospel without shame
It's really important to understand, that each of us may play an important role in spreading the good news. We are saved by the One who paid the fine for our sins and this should meke us immensely grateful.
