Q: This product does not look like it is from Look. Who makes it and what is the material?

The picture is from Amazon but You are right. It looks different in real life. I have it listed on ebay under tennis_and_cycling just in case you want to look at the real picture. Thanks.

Q: My say the tention is 16. How much less is a 12?

for me 12 is very soft, 16 is a tighter size but it feels more secure and there are no problems taking my foot off the pedal

The only difference I have observe is the spring tensions. I believe if I purchased the spring tension I wanted it, it would fit my Max 2 blade pedals. The only issue I needed to resolve before changing the components was to buy some Torx 8 and Torx 10 bits for the tiny retaining screws. If you don't have any, buy some at the same time to avoid frustration. The actual part replacement is otherwise extremely straight forward.
